Attention all gamers with girlfriends!!!,

First, i should explain Bust-a-Move to those who haven't touched a single BAM game. Basically, it's a more colorful version of Tetris. You have different colored bubbles at the top of your screen. At the bottom, a character shooting bubbles at the other bubbles. Connect three or bubbles of the same color, and they all pop. If they happen to be holding up any more bubbles, those fall away and give you even more points. Of course, the balls are slowly dropping down, and if they reach the bottom of the screen...game over. Now......If you have a girlfriend and you want her to play video games with you or just accept your game playing a bit more...buy this game!!! It's addictive and cute and girls seem to love it. And the best thing is that I love it, too! Sure, the graphics may be a little cartoon-like and cutesy, but it adds to the game. There are plenty of levels to work your way through. There are eight playable characters to choose from , plus two unlockable characters. In the one-player story mode, the difference in the characters doesn't come out too much, except in their individual animations and their different, lame endings, but in two-player and one-player challenge mode, the differences are a bigger deal. According to which character you choose, different patterns of bubbles will fly onto your opponent's screen. So what more could you ask for? Multiple play modes? Got 'em. Different, cool characters? Got 'em. Replay value? Got it. A game your girlfriend will actually play if she dislikes video games? GOT IT!

An Addictive Addition to any PS2 Home,

I must admit, the cover is disturbing. However, please don't judge this book by its cover. Dollar-to-hour, this has to be one of the best investments I've made for the PS2! The game is a relative to the "Puzzle Bobble" games, which were derivative of the "Bubble Bobble" arcade game (the cute little dinosaurs are still there, though!).The game is a puzzle game where you shoot bubbles up to the top of the screen where a mass of other bubbles hang. If you line up at least three bubble of the same color - they pop! And depending on what is hanging from them/positioned around - you may only knock off the ones you lined up, or you may knock out half the screen. Throw into the mix various special bubbles ("knock out all bubbles of this color on the screen", cannon-ball bubbles, etc), and you get a very cool game that will keep you at the screen for hours. Add into this a couple 2-player modes with adjustable difficulty levels and an array of characters that have definite strengths/weaknesses against one another, and it makes a great party game. Trust me, you will lose days on this game in a BAM-daze. I've had friends miss morning meetings because of a two-hour BAM session that went on weeeeeeell past the previously agreed upon time. Only one caveat, if you have any of the BAM games for PS1, the only advantage to getting this game is slightly slicker look and colors - very very little in the game has changed. But if you don't have a BAM game in your collection, this is a MUST OWN! IGNORE THE (Charles-Manson-esque) BABY! :) You will not be disappointed.

GRAPHICS:
Colorful, eye-catching, and creative. The cute graphics easily put me in a good mood, though the moving backgrounds during gameplay can be a little bit distracting. Overall, I give the graphics an A+. CHARACTERS: Cute and funny, each with their own unique bubble pattern. I was disappointed in the selection of characters upon first purchasing the game, since I'd played a version of the game with cooler looking human characters. But over time I began to become attached to characters such as the mysterious acting "Miss T", and the adorable little kitty "Mog". The only down side to the characters is that they will occasionally be distracting, or they will block certain parts of the screen. I give the characters an A-. GAMEPLAY: The game is very simple. You just tap the arrow keys to position your arrow, then press "X" to shoot the bubble. The bubbles are different colors, and your goal is to get three or more of the same color together, which will make them blow up. The slightly harder part is keeping the bubbles from passing the line. It may sound complicated, but that's because I can't explain it very well. It is actually the easiest Play Station game I have ever played. But it is also addicting. I recommend playing it when you want something simple but fun. I give gameplay an A. OPTIONS: There are few options of gameplay. But the few options are fun, especially "Chain Reaction" in the two player mode. I give the options of gameplay a B+. OVERALL: An enjoyable game. I recommend it to kids, and adults (Considering that when we first bought it, my parents were addicted).

Most addictive game ever!,

Bust-A-Move HAS to be the only game from the 80's that is not only still around, but is just as popular, and getting better with every release. This is the most colorful and complex version yet - my only complaint is that there doesn't seem to be as many characters as the previous versions. This game is more addictive than Tetris, and fun for ANY age!

Is there a more wretched game for the PS2?,

When I first heard there was a Bust-A-Move for the Playstation 2, I was fairly excited because I had never owned a BAM game and I knew what an addictive fun game it was. When I first saw the cover for it, I was immediately turned off at how unattractive it was. I figured, though, you can't judge a game by its case. I later descovered exactly why it had the small baby on the cover, because only a small child under the age of 3 would find this game entertaining, or challenging for that matter. When I popped it into my Playstation, I immediately began asking, "Am I sure this is a playstation game?" The graphics are awful, as is the animation. The set up and characters look like pieces of cut out paper, and the animation is boxy and doesn't flow well. Speaking of the characters, I was disappointed moving from BAM 4 to S-BAM, because the characters were so different, and you can't even play as those cute little dinosaurs I had been looking forward to. The classic BAM music is gone and replaced with music that is, well, interesting to say the least. Overall, this game was simply awful. I bought it yesterday, and selling it today. I think I'll buy Bust-A-Move 4. I would much rather recommend that to anyone.

I played this since I got it, until I beat it at least 20 times. Not only can you rock this against the computer, you can put in a code and unlock even MORE levels and 2 more characters!..... (look it up yourself!)
So, when you start playing this you're like, oh boy, match the dots... but once you get into the vs. part of this game, or even versus the cpu, enjoy trying to win when the bubbles come piling up! In puzzle mode, you'll be hard pressed to come up with the fastest way to clear the board and get a time bonus, which you will rarely do unless you study the game. Overall, for an old school PS2 game, this is pretty awesome. While there aren't a lot of things to unlock, the vs mode and playing against the computer will keep you busy, so this is a good game for the price!

As an avid Bust-A-Move player I was wondering what the best version is. Well I haven't played all of them, since there's like a million, but I have played this one extensively and will say that it's pretty solid. The controls are spot on, the pacing of the classic mode is good, there's a whole nother classic mode to unlock, and the multiplayer is pretty great. I recently played Super Bust-A-Move 2 for the PS2 and do wish I had that version for the inclusion of a story mode, but overall I would say this game is pretty solid, minus the cover. (Which made EGM's 20 worst video game covers of all time) If you like Bust-A-Move then this game is worth it.

This game is a lot of fun, it is not as technical as most of the new games on the market but the simplicity is part of what I like about it.
