After reading the review from the previous woman, I had to put in a reply. Come on, 4 days, no results. I suppose it took only 4 days for her body to get out of shape. I am 45 years old and have been doing the Callanetics workout for several years. And, just like the other woman, off and on. During the summer months I just can't seem to find the time to work out...

None of the reviews reveal that some exercises on this tape require a ballet bar like in an exercise studio. Very few homes have these in their living room, much less the den! I would have appreciated knowing this before wasting my money since I can't do the program as intended without the exercise bar.

After reading the review from the previous woman, I had to put in a reply. Come on, 4 days, no results. I suppose it took only 4 days for her body to get out of shape. I am 45 years old and have been doing the Callanetics workout for several years. And, just like the other woman, off and on. During the summer months I just can't seem to find the time to work out between yard work, house work and summer activities. But, as soon as those dog days are gone, I start my work out again and I can always count on the Callanetics to get me right back into shape. Off course, with the short time off I really don't get that much out of shape. Callanetics is wonderful and it works, just as fast as Callan Pinckney says, results are visible after 10 hours. One does however have to stick with it and do it right. I, for one, can't say enough good about the workout and I am glad I found it. Totally satisfied. Wonderful workout. Fast permanent results.

I have purchased a few of the videos I must say i am seeing results very fast i have more energy.My mental and physical health is more postive. I feel alive. Callanetics has made and is making a difference in my attitude. Aida E. Morales

I am fairly new to the Callanetics way of exercising and recently decided to try this tape. I thought it was very difficult and caution viewers to make sure that they can easily get through the regular callanetics tape before they attempt to use this one. They don't call it "Super Callanetics" for nothin'!

Please try to get past the bad hairdos and the music. This is truly a great tape. I admit it is sometimes hard to fit her one hour and 15 minute workout into my schedule, BUT, (1) you can actually break it down into chunks of say 30 minutes + 45 minutes. (2) you only need to do 1-2 hours a week (3) after you've achieved the figure you want, you can do her maintenance program.

I would highly recommend that you read her book "Callanetics, 10 years younger in 10 hours" in conjunction with the tape. First, you will have a more detailed description of the excercises. Second, the Beginners, the Advanced, and the 15-minute program is described, so even if you buy the Advanced Callanetics video, you will see the little variations in the excercises for beginners. Third, you will understand more why certain features of the excercises are very important (you must try to extend your arms during the situps to open up your back muscles! try not to keep them next to your ears!) HOWEVER, I still strongly urge you to buy the tape as well, because it motivates you and gives you the counts, and because illustrations don't always show you everthing!

To the 32 years old former gymnast/dancer...of course it is difficult to raise your leg 100 times while holding an ackward position. Had you REALLY listened to her, you would have done ONLY what you are able to do. I started off by barely being able to lift my leg off the ground (during the hip and behind excercises), and now, (maybe after 15 hours), I am able to complete the 100 counts. I can't wait to get even more control over my body!

Ballet training or yoga wouldn't hurt either. You do not need a ballet barre in your house, just furniture of the proper height that you can grab onto.

This is not a beginner tape. Yes, it is a tad boring, and seems to drag a bit, but that is because of all the explanations and demos. Use the tape until you memorize the program, then do it on your own.

In contrast to what the former reviewer said, it is NOT necessary to have a special bar or something. The great thing about Callanetics (and Callan writes it several times in her books) is that you DON'T need anything special. Everybody has a heavy chair, cupboard or desk. I myself use my desk and it works great. As for your muscles: try Callanetics and you will see yourself change every day. It is great!

I find this challenging, slow and difficult to maintain my enthusiam after 4 days. Just cannot find that point where I can get flexible enough or results enough to continue. Every 2 years I would try it again. Their bodies look so sleek. After that I got bored, & really appreciate TaeBo & Grind or dance workouts. It's more fun combining a workout with something "useful." I personally do not buy a workout tape without trying it. I've purchased too many I did not want to keep.
