This is the battery that this netbook should be shipped with originally...
I just recently received it - charged it up, then was quite challenged to run it all the way down to be able to set it up for the recharge recommended.... it lasts QUITE a long time! Yes, it makes the netbook slightly heavier - and props the back of it up slightly. The extension of the battery is actually quite convenient - the elevation of the back provides for more air circulation (thus, cooling) and I am finding that I prefer the angle that results. Makes for a better typing angle, and a better screen view. All in all - this battery is a must if you are running the Acer One 8.9. Really.

This battery pack fits my Acer Aspire One 8.9" netbook perfectly. While the extra cells rise the back of the computer up quite a bit it does provide a lot more run time.
Just keep in mind that the battery life depends upon what you're doing on the computer. For example, if I'm just on a waiting jag within [...] I can get up to 10+ hours of battery life. On the other hand, if I'm editing, remastering and converting audio into various formats or running my external slim LG optical drive the extra processing does suck the juice out faster (about six hours of run time). Depending on how much of a power user you are you may find the extra battery life quite useful. When storing my Acer in its case I make sure to reattach the 6-cell battery so that it fits into the case perfect while keeping the nine-cell in the side pocket. again, the extra cells do raise the back of the computer. On the bright side it does add a bit of extra cooling room too. I like this battery pack. If you have an 8.9" Acer Aspire One and find the 6-cell battery not proving you with enough run time then get a couple of the 9-cells. Just make sure you also get an external charger as well. UPDATE 2010-03-08: A month ago I decided to get one of the few last 10.1" Acer Aspire One netbooks that still have XP-Home. And a pleasant surprise that I found was that this battery is 100% interchangeable between the 8.9" Acer and the 10.1" Acer. So if you were wondering about compatibility between Acer Aspire One hardware then you can breathe a sigh of relief.

previously I had written a poor review on this product...this product had stopped working after just a month of use on my Aspire One AOA150...I was so frustrated with this since I had just bought this item 30 days before, I tried so many things and the computer would not read a charge on the battery and the battery would not hold a bit of charge...fast forward almost 9 months later, and after reading so many blogs and posts from people I realized that the MAIN issue with the battery was not the battery itself but the computer...I had to update the BIOS to the most current version through the Acer website, after the BIOS was updated and the computer rebooted it was immediately recognized and began charging the battery once again...I've tested the battery to see if it holds charge and it does, when running at full power (using the internet, watching movies, which uses quite a bit of the processor speed) the battery will last around 3.5 to 4.5 hours...when running the bare minimum (wireless is shut off) the charge will last between 7.5 to 8.5 hours...NOT the 10 to 12 hours they claim...let's keep it real here...still thats a heck of a lot more than the original 3 cell battery that came with the computer and the battery life of about 1.5 hours...
