It will absolutely will not focus sunlight the way other clear cups can. We use 1/8" Clear Acrylic that will not impede the RF signal your EZ Pass Transponder uses to communicate with the toll way system. This holder works very well in securing the EZ pass. It adheres securely to the windshield but is also easily moved. I am not sure that I am using it correctly but my EZ pass fits best in it "upside-down". That does not seem to matter because the sensors read it just fine. Be sure to install the holder so that it is not obscured from the sensors-- instructions are included. The only criticism I have is that the 3 holders were not packed very well and the glossy black holders arrived with scratches- a clear holder may look better.
