5.0 out of 5 stars best ayu remix cd
I usually do not like remix CDs for most artists--after all, why pay more money for songs that you already have on another CD? Ayumi Hamasaki's remix CDs are a glaring exception to my rule. Every single one of her remix albums, including the assorted ayu-mi-x albums, ayu-trance, and ayu-ro, simply shines. That being said, IMHO, the best one out of all these albums is...

1.0 out of 5 stars A ROOT CANAL WITHOUT NOVOCAINE!
They're all kidding, right? I mean, have these other reviewers even listened to this CD? It's horrible! There is no possible way anyone can think these mixes are the best. I'm a big fan of Ayumi Hamasaki and I enjoy the standard dance mixes that are issued on the Ayu-Mi-X releases. However, the reasons for disliking this Ayu-Ro Mix atrocity are plenty:

5.0 out of 5 stars best ayu remix cd, December 29, 2001

I usually do not like remix CDs for most artists--after all, why pay more money for songs that you already have on another CD? Ayumi Hamasaki's remix CDs are a glaring exception to my rule. Every single one of her remix albums, including the assorted ayu-mi-x albums, ayu-trance, and ayu-ro, simply shines. That being said, IMHO, the best one out of all these albums is the first of the two Super Eurobeat remixes.

Many of the new versions are much better than the original versions--especially Kanariya. The original version was okay, but the power mix version really highlights the vocals. Other great tracks include appears, Trust, and To Be. I really recommend this CD to any ayu or JPop fan. Also, if you're trying to introduce a friend to JPop, this is a great album to start with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Some great Eurobeat/Ayumi Hamasaki, January 12, 2006
This review is from: Super Eurobeat Presents: Ayu-Ro Mix (Audio CD)
As a fan of both Eurobeat and Ayumi Hamasaki it was a natural step for me to buy this album... it was quite hard to find... but I got it and couldn't be happier! Let's look at this CD:

It is truely a beautiful work. These remixes give Ayumi Hamasaki's songs the uplifting and exciting sound of Eurobeat without detracting at all from the excellence of the original songs.

I especially liked the remixes of Boys & Girls, Trauma and You. These are three great Ayumi Hamasaki songs and I was a little worried that they might be ruined... My fears were completely ungrounded. Rather than make them worse, the remixes improved upon already excellent songs! Making this a must have CD for any fans of Ayumi Hamasaki or Eurobeat!

1.0 out of 5 stars A ROOT CANAL WITHOUT NOVOCAINE!, February 12, 2005

They're all kidding, right? I mean, have these other reviewers even listened to this CD? It's horrible! There is no possible way anyone can think these mixes are the best. I'm a big fan of Ayumi Hamasaki and I enjoy the standard dance mixes that are issued on the Ayu-Mi-X releases. However, the reasons for disliking this Ayu-Ro Mix atrocity are plenty:

1) These are the same exact grating Hyperbeat tracks that the italian label A-Beat-C was foisting on the public back in 1993

2) Almost all the tracks sound *exactly* alike; yeah, there are a couple of exceptions, but they really don't justify the rest of this junk

3) The same screeching synthesizer is in most of them and after just a couple of minutes, it's headache-inducing

4) There's no adjustment for the breakneck speed BPMs: they just sped up the vocals to match the beat so Ayumi ends up sounding like a shrill munchkin on helium (personally, I'd sue if anyone remixed my voice in that manner)...hey, Dave Rodgers and company, ever hear of voice-compression? There are so many GOOD examples of remixes out there, and there are tons of software available, so there's no justification for the chirpiness of the vocals.

Avoid this crap. These remixes do nothing more than make Ayumi sound untalented.
