I bought this for my nephew for Christmas. After he opened it and the Batman toy I bought together with it--he would not let them out of his sight. Then after it seemed that he may be a little bored of them, i showed him what they do, when the lights started flashing and the accessories started moving, he went nuts! He loves them--the perfect action figures for three-year-olds!

My sons enjoy playing with their superheroes, and Superman is supposed to have a magnet which will make the crane activate, but we have been unable to figure it out.

My son got this for his 4th birthday. Superman's drill backpack and mask come off if you want to use Superman as a stand alone figure. His cape is fabric (instead of the hard plastic capes that some figures come with). His right hand has a magnet in it that touches against a plate in the drill/backpack to activate the drill to move up and down and create a red light on Superman's chest plate. The figure does have an on/off switch behind his shoulder. There is also a button on the top of the drill that opens and closes the claw part of the drill to pick up small objects. Superman has some trouble standing alone when he is wearing his drill. You have to place his feet just right to balance the weight or else he leans forward a little. Not a big deal - just something my son asked for help with. When the drill is removed. Superman stands just fine.
The figure seems sturdy and easy for preschool aged kids to manipulate. This is a great toy for the money (we found it for well under $10 through an Amazon vendor). It is also compatable with some of our Rescue Hero toys and vehicles.
