Finding books for my 7-year-old that are age appropriate has been a challenge. He's a boy and I get that the Captain Underpants and Big Nate books are fun, but there is just too much potty humor for Mom's taste. George Brown has been a welcome discovery- the humor is funny without being too potty-centric (sure, it's a word). Good for a strong second grade reader through maybe fourth grade.

I bought this for my son who reads above grade level, he just isn't interested in spending alot of time reading. He has a good sense of humor so I thought a funny book might entice him to read for the enjoyment of it. Defintely did the trick, he laughed out loud and he is on to the 2nd in the series. It is probably a little below his level, but it did what it was intended - to help him learn to read for fun.

My 8 yr. old son just loves this book. I feel good about this George Brown series. I'm impressed with the reinforcing of character mixed with tons of humor. My son is finally excited about reading and the bold letters sprinkled in the text somehow helps with his motivation. Thank you for this.... our boys need quality options and this is a great one.
