My kids (3 & 5 yrs old) think these books are great and love to read them over and over again. The pictures are bright and colorful and the stories are fairly simple for them to follow. Because it's short and the letters are large it keeps their attention and I can also teach my older child some of the basic words as we read.

I'm so glad they've come out with this Super Hero Squad series as it gives younger kids the opportunity to see the superheroes in action, but in a less dark and graphic way than the traditional comic books.

My 4 year old really likes this book and so do I. It is a great refresher for moms that have no clue who these super heroes are! If fighting or scary images will bother your child, rest assured that there is no worrisome material found inside. There is a differentiation between the good guys and the bad guys, but its main purpose is simply to introduce these characters to you and your child. Emerging (very early) readers might find some familiar words, but will definitely need help.

For this for my son, who is an on target, second grade, eight year old. Trying to make reading less of a chore and more fun. This book is ideal for him because he is obsessed with superheroes and he can read it independently, requiring only a little help with some three syllable words.

Our son loves the Super Hero Squad so we have a ton of these books. This one has a nice lesson about including others in your group, plus I like that each book has a page at the beginning of things you can find as you read. Not that all books have to be educational- it's also fun to read about the Marvel characters on a level my son finds engaging. Cute books and I highly recommend them for Marvel fans with small kids! (Side note on age level: Our son is three- we've been reading these to him since he was super-little, but I'm guessing the intended age is about pre-school through early elementary.)
