I don't get the other reviews rating this product so poorly. There's literature out there for basically EVERY age group when it comes to comic book characters. The "squaddies" are meant to look cartoon-y. You're not going to see Wolverine clawing people to shreds, or Hulk pulverizing someone's head in. I didn't purchase "Fight Club" and then give it a 1-star rating because I didn't deem it "kid-friendly."

For the price and speedy delivery, I was more than happy with the purchase... and my kids ages 2 and 5 loved it as well. They aren't too concerned with lack of sub-plots, poor character development or a dragging 3rd act in a 10- page book. The surprising plot twist on page # 5 was a doozy though. Didn't see THAT coming! ;)

Although superhero/villain stories are not my style, my preschool son really likes this book. He doesn't totally understand the killer plants/ mad scientists storyline, but at least it is unique. The best part is when the bad guys get a taste of their own medicine at the end - and get sent packing back to Villainville.
I removed a star because there is a violent part near the end when Hulk throws some punches at Abomination, and I feel the story could have been written without that scene. Otherwise the story is about as nonviolent as a superhero story can be (unless you count the violent shredding of mutant killer vines). The characters include Hulk, Wolverine, Iceman and a few more superhero favorites.

My grandson really likes superheros and was very excited go get this book. The book arrived 2 days late. But when it came it made his day. He sat down and read it straight away and of course again before bed and the rest of the week. It kept him entertained for several days and he will go back and read it over and over again. And tell anyone who will listen the whole story Joe style.

Great (not as violent) rendition of the super villains for a young boy to enjoy. This series is great! Strongly recommend if your young child is interested in super-heroes and/or comic books but you're leery of the violence.
