This is a great collection of "the greatest star."
I like the fact that the selections are varied. Anyone who does not "marvel" at "Miss Marmelstein" needs to brush up on their Barbra 101...it is a remarkable testament to great music to come!
I too would like to hear" Our Corner of the Night/He Could Show Me" included on some collections. Also: " Prisoner," and "God Bless America" (I bet dear Kate Smith is still applauding Barbra from the heavens!)
In the meantime Streisand lovers, enjoy this fine collection, and be ready for more!

What can I say, I'm a big fan of Barbra, so I loved this album. It's a good compilation of her classic hits. What I liked the most was the accessible price. I really recommend it!

This CD has a host of her hits and the sound is great! She simply sings as only Barbra can! Granted we have heard them all before but one never gets tired of hearing and listening to BARBRA!

THERE ARE SO MANY FEMALE SINGERS OUT THERE, THT YOU JUST CNT FAVOR ONE. MRS. STREISAND-BROLIN IS ONE OF THOSE YOU SHOULD HV AS U'RE FAVTES. NOW THS CLLTN IS NICE, BT NT ONE OF THE BEST...BT I STILL LIKE IT.....IT YEILD SOME FAMILIAR TUNES, I'M GOOD W/IT !!!

Let me start by saying that I'm not a worshipper of BS like "The Nanny" or my cousin, but I do appreciate that she is an excellent singer. I have three albums; Superman, Wet, and Memories. I purchased this album because I needed to get the track "Woman In Love" for an 80's decade party (this song was listed as one of the top 5 for one of the years in the 80's), and as a bonus for me this CD also included "The Main Event/Fight," which is a track I enjoyed (even if it isn't necessarily one of her best according to fans). I also liked the fact that it included a few earlier hits, especially "Miss Marmelstein," which weren't included on the Memories CD.

When I received the CD I opened it without looking very closely at it. Well, to my utter horror (okay I exagerate a little), as I was popping the CD in to give it a spin, I was reading the track listing from the back CD insert and noticed that "Woman In Love" AND "The Main Event/Fight" weren't listed. So, the main reasons I bought this particular compilation CD weren't even on the CD!?! BUT WAIT! They were on the CD! So, as a "word of warning" the CD track listing shown here at Amazon IS CORRECT. It is the CD artwork itself that is incorrect. I don't know if this is something that will be fixed with future pressings (if there are any) or not.

I also found the sound quality to be quite satisfactory even though this is a "discount" CD. So, if you are interested in any of these tracks, this just might be the CD to consider.

I read from a novel of a song recorded by Barbra Streisand. I cannot remember having heard the song recorded by the diva. Searching through my collections, it was not included in any one of them. Painfully I went through the albums at Amazon.com and I finally found the track in the Super Hits cd. The song was "If I Could". The album also inclueded monster hits like "The Way We Were", "Evergreen", "People" etc. I may have all the other tracks in her separate albums, this is definitely one of the best collection of hits by the diva. For the price of this CD, I strongly recommended it to all Streisand's fans. Cheers!

For the die-hard fans it's not a must-have also because it's not an official BS album. Barbra's albums are always wellconsidered so the songs belong together and the order of the songs is very important as well to bring the emotions Barbra has put in each song.
But for those who want a Barbra album with some of her best known songs its nice. Barbra is Barbra.... always great to listen to, always sends chillings down my spine...

Another compilation of Streisand hits from the beginning of her career to her marriage to Jim Brolin. Starting with her show stopping Miss Marmelstein to her stunning I've Dreamed Of You which she sang at her wedding. In between of hits from the Broadway and movie versions of her Oscar winning role in Funny Girl (People and Funny Girl), movie hits (The Way We Were, Love Theme From "A Star Is Born" (Evergreen) and The Main Event/Fight) up to selections from two of her top selling albums Woman In Love from Guilty and Somewhere from The Broadway Album. Also included is the lesser known If I Could. All at a great price to give you a new collection of Streisand tunes to listen to.

While the idea of the Superhits series, is a good one for the casual listener, some of the cds, are truly lost, not really hitting what it set out to do.
This cd, doesn't really do it, either. But, for 5 bucks, and 10 BS songs, you really can't go wrong. It does contain of her biggest hits: People, Way We Were, Evergreen, and Woman in love. It also contains a few, that should have been hits :Somewhere, and If I could. Filling the disc out, are Main Event, a modest hit of the late 70's , Miss Marmelstein, a pretty bad, first vinyl appearance of Barbara, If I Could, a CD single, from the late '90s, Funny Girl, and I've Dreamed of you (also previously a single only release). So does it work? Yes. But, I would have preferred a few less hits and a few more rarities, but alas its title is Superhits. Hopefully, BS will get a vol 2, which SHOULD include the elusive single "Our Corner of the Night/He Could Show me", both great songs, which the masses should at least get to hear.
