As the reviewer above said the Highwayman are all excellent recording artists individually... but what they have together is something very special. They definitely compliment each other.
What I like about this collection is the way it samples the first two Highwayman discs. It gives you the best tracks off of each albums.
Buying this album is a great way to see if you like what these 4 country veterans have to offer.
The title track is a true classic! I can just picture the four spirits of these characters out on the edge of eternity singing this cosmic cowboy tune.
I also love the song, "Desperados Waiting for a Train". It is a sad song full of longing. I love the way these guys seem to reminisce about days gone by. They are also tied to larger themes like loyalty, patriotism and history.
This album is very entertaining and full of great tunes!

This is My first Highwaymen CD. I like Nelson, Cash, Jennings, and Kristofferson all on thier own. They're incredible together. If any one's voice lacks the other three make up for it. #1 Highwayman And #10 American Remains are my two favorites.

How could a group with Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Chris Christopherson, and Willy Nelson not make some great country music? All these songs are great.

My dad had really been wanting this CD for a long time. And he told me he just couldn't find it anywhere. So, I was glad that I was able to find it for him; he's really enjoyed having it!

Four of the Best country stars ever! When they got together, it could only be a great collaboration and this is. I sure do miss Johnny!
Of course, my favorite is the title song, Highwayman.

It had been awhile since i heard the Highwaymen and after listening to this CD went ahead and ordered a DVD. I was thankful i actually got to enjoy one of their concerts, there will never be a dupilcate

Don't just listen to the hit "Highwayman". That's actually the reason I bought it but as I was doing other things in the house I decided to just listen to the whole album. It has other songs on it that I've never heard before but decided to put on my IPOD anyway. With the exception of one or two of the songs, most of it is really good. I've never been a fan of Kris Kristofferson(sp)and wondered why the others included him into their songs. Guess they see something in him that I don't. He's just your normal average joe while the other three are top of the line guys. Really listen to the songs, especially like desperado's waiting for a train. It's an interesting song.

A classic album. Even if you like modern country this is a staple of any country collection.

every song is great and this cd, anyone would want to listen to over and over again.

Okay. Good,but not great, I love the Highwaymen though, but this isn't their best
