This review is from: Super Hits (Audio CD)
With it's handsome cover, (The picture is from Vale's "I Don't Know How To Love Her" vinyl LP) this CD is a good mix of greatest hits from 1956 to 1969, and a couple of extras. Jerry Vale's version of "You Don't Know Me" was a #1 Billboard hit in 1956, doing better than Elvis Presley's remake of the song in 1967. The smoothy crooned "Moonglow" from the LP "Same Old Moon", is a nice addition to this CD. Taken from the newly released CD compilation "There Goes My Heart/I Hear A Rhapsody", one of my favorite Vale songs of all time is on this CD, "Symphony". "Symphony" gives the listener a chance to experience Vale's strong tenor voice and his trademark longheld final notes, and especially the vowel "E"! And with the dramatic "For Mama" and the high-noted "Promises Promises", this CD is an all around good addition to any Jerry Vale collection.
