4.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Hits?
Living Color is one of my all-time favorite groups but this collection can hardly be called a "greatest hits" package.

If you are looking for a cd that showcases the diversity of the band's musical influences, I suggest you buy PRIDE instead. Not only does it contains many of these "super hits" but also some previously unreleased tracks and...

3.0 out of 5 stars Budget-Line Greatest Hits Collection
This is an interesting, if nonesssential budget-CD greatest-hits compo with their cover of Hendrix's "Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" which is not available on any other release. Its a decent intro, and contains the absolute barest essentials from _Vivid_ but the selection from _Time's Up_ ... and only one song from _Stain_ leaves something to be desired. Still worth...

Living Color is one of my all-time favorite groups but this collection can hardly be called a "greatest hits" package.

If you are looking for a cd that showcases the diversity of the band's musical influences, I suggest you buy PRIDE instead. Not only does it contains many of these "super hits" but also some previously unreleased tracks and other omissions like:

"Love Rears Its Ugly Head", "Memories Can't Wait", "Funny Vibe", "Glamour Boys", "Solace Of You" and "What's Your Favorite Color?"

I have no idea why the record company would even bother releasing this half-baked disk when PRIDE is available for the same price. In any case, this is a great band that deserves your unbiased ear.

Its a decent intro, and contains the absolute barest essentials from _Vivid_ but the selection from _Time's Up_ ... and only one song from _Stain_ leaves something to be desired. Still worth picking up for fans if you dont have the Hendrix cover elsewhere - plus its dirt cheap.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some, but not all, April 8, 2005
This review is from: Super Hits (Audio CD)
This is a budget "best of." The sound is not the best in the world. There are some of their great songs, but many that are not here. What is needed is a true "best of" done up like the remaster "Vivid" CD.

Vivid and Pride have a much better arangement, but practically all the hits are here on this one cd. If I were you, I would buy them all. I have them. You just cant go wrong with Living Colour. The brilliant guitar of Vernon Reid, the soulful lyrics of Corey Glover. Yes, its not Vivid or Pride, but for the price, its worth getting to ad to your collection....Its Living Colour isnt it?

Living coulour was definetely a great unique heavy metal band. Their style really hasn't been matched. Super hits really provides a good summary of their career with songs like pride, open letter to the landlord, and pride. There is also a cover a jimi hendrix's burning the midnight lamp. Hopefully this album will show how why living colour is such an important band.
