This is a great book, it has great descriptions of how to get each star, and even tells how to beat bowser at the end, thanks to the book I just beat bowser. It has little pictures showing where the stars too, and directions on how to get the red coins in each level. Its in color too. This is a great book for a person that needs help getting stars. Also if you don't want to buy a book, go to www.nintendo.com and you can get just as good descriptions.

I'm an adult gamer (probably because my parents never caved in and got me an Atari -- remember those?), and I have always gotten strategy guides for more complicated games (Zelda and Donkey Kong, for instance). I shouldn't have needed a guide for this game, but I was stuck at 45 stars and just couldn't obtain any more. With this guide, I quickly obtained 25 more stars. It's very simply written, and will sometimes tell you where the star is, but not necessarily how to get it. Sometimes the directions are confusing (i.e. "go up on the left side" but the left side depends on your vantage point). What this guide really needed is what I've come to expect from all strategy guides: maps, either detailed or simplistic. There are no maps of the individual worlds, and no layout of where each world is in the castle. The lack of these maps is what keeps this guide from being great. There are, however, many color pictures, and usually from that you can ascertain where you need to be. Still, this is a good strategy guide -- especially if you're somewhat familiar with the worlds already and just need a little help.

The book helped me alot, but all the names of the worlds were made up, they were in the index too. It messed me up when trying to find the world I was in, but otherwords, it was pretty good.

I bought this (totally unauthorized) guide by BradyGames because I bought a guide for Donkey Kong 64 and it was extremely helpful. Although I'm not keen on unofficial guides, this guide was really helpful for finding hidden stars and bonus items. But there is a problem.

The Good - Not one star is missing in this guide and the photographs are helpful if you don't know where to go when trying to receive a star. The guide tells you the location of each star how to get it and it's usually simple to understand and that was a relief.

The Bad - I really wish there were maps of the courses so I wouldn't have to look at the photographs or read the description of where to go.

Super Mario 64 is not impossible without a guide but it can be very difficult so it's nice to have a guide with no flaws and this guide really comes in handy.

I own all the mario games on my DSi that are out there so far. I had this game before but on another nintendo system and I had forgotten how to do some things. Like getting the winged Mario cap! When I looked it up in this book.. well, it all flooded back to me. You won't be able to go far without that winged cap! OR the tips on how to beat some of the bosses in the game. That too I had forgotten. Some things I still figure out on my own. When needed I look it up in this book. If I wear this copy out I will buy another one!

This is a very good book about the Super Mario Nintendo 64. It tells alot of info about all the stars needed and how to get them. It is very informative and easy to read. I would recommend this book.

This book is too hard to understand and it lacks description of the game. I was totally lost and I didn't even understand the way it was written. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK.
