A True Ballad of the 90s, February 28, 2008
This review is from: Super Mario Brothers (Audio CD)
I recently bought this soundtrack for a dollar on Amazon, and let me tell you, it's worth its weight in diamonds. I would have been willing to pay up to fifty, fifty-five dollars for this collector's item! I am a child of the 90s, and this is the music I grew up with!
--
"Almost Unreal" -- Roxette
A great song, written for the movie 'Hocus Pocus,' but got put in Super Mario Bros, instead. Has a retro, almost classical sound to it...
"Love is the Drug" -- DiVinyls
Probably one of the best covers of this song I've heard, as this is a cover of Roxy Music's original 'Love is the Drug.'
"Walk the Dinosaur" -- The Goombas
What an appropriate song for this movie! It's about dinosaurs, just like the movie, and it has the word 'goomba' in it!
"I Would Stop the World" -- Charles and Eddie
My FAVORITE song on this soundtrack. It has a great 90s tune, and it's a heartwarming song, too.
"I Want You" -- Marky Mark
Ah, the days when Rap and Hip Hop were good, Marky Mark's "I Want You," is definitely unique, especially among most of today's music.
"Where Are You Going? -- Extreme
My least favorite song on the albulm, but still good.
"Speed of Light" -- Joe Satraini
My second-favorite piece of music on the albulm, best know for it's use in the movie during the 'ice-slide' scene.
"Breakpoint" -- Megadeth
Interestingly enough, I don't think this song is in the movie, but it's still welcome to what is probably one of the best soundtracks of the 90s.
"Tie Your Mother Down" -- Queen
Once again, I don't know why this is on the soundtrack, perhaps the scenes it was in were cut for time-constrictions, but also good music.
"Cantaloop" -- US3
A bizzare way to end the soundtrack, but interestingly good, a mix of techno and hip-hop that go hand in hand together.
--
That's all for me, if you're a fan of Mario, the Mario movie or just good 90s music, buy this albulm while it's still around! I hope my review has been helpful and informative. :)

Great Soundtrack, August 4, 2008
This review is from: Super Mario Brothers (Audio CD)
This a great soundtrack, if you enjoyed the movie as much as I did you would not mind having the sound track. I have this soundtrack on tape! and really wanted to get it in digital form. My favorite track has to be I Would Stop The World by Charles and Eddie. Many of the other songs on this CD are great to such as It's Almost Unreal, and who doesn't like Walk the Dinosaur (use to dance to that as a kid with my brother and sister) This would be worth the buy if you enjoyed the movie, the musicians on the soundtrack, or any of the songs. I love buying soundtracks to good movies, and the ones that make me think wow I like that music or song I always want to try to get a hold of.

A great soundtrack that represented the times, February 14, 2003
This review is from: Super Mario Brothers (Audio CD)
This is a great soundtrack that contains one of my personal favorite songs ALMOST UNREAL by Roxette, and many other songs from the era. The album content is very nice and has a mix of 90's rock and pop as well as some others. I would highly recommend this album to anyone that likes music and the experience of enthrawling oneself in the past (better times, musically).
