Not only is Mario Galaxy a spectacular game, the soundtrack is so well put together that it could be considered an album alone. I have played this album for people who don't play video games and almost everybody has said "I like this, what is it?"

I agree that the platinum version has some great stuff that this standard version does not have but all of the important stuff is on this disc. Egg Planet and Wind Garden are fantastic tracks but Nemesis King Koopa turned way up is honestly one of my favorite classical pieces.

I hate that it is so expensive and that it was not released in the US.

I am talking now about the Platinum Edition of Mario Galaxy which comes with second CD having over 50 extra tracks to add to the soundtrack, making the OST even better to listen to.
I greatly enjoyed Mario Galaxy, with some of its downsides but the music of the game was great to listen to and all those tunes were awesome to hear also because of few ones that have been around since Super Mario Bros on NES, though being remixed again and again.
Sadly Platinum Edition is quite hard to get and probably if you do find it, it will be expensive and I hope also that it is not a bootleg. So if you liked the game, and like game music I do recommend this one to be added to CD shelf.

Koji Kondo is the music mastermind behind most Nintendo games like The Legend of Zelda series and the Mario franchise. He just keeps the great music flowing in each new game. The Mario Galaxy soundtrack was only available in Japan, it has not yet hit USA shelves. But I have listened to each track and each of them take me back to the fun times that I had with Mario galaxy. Great buy... if you can find it.
