I discovered this artist from the "French Cafe" CD (also an excellent taste of several different French artists). He is great. His music is light and playful, with somewhat of an electric feel to it, and his lyrics are quite intriquing. This is despite the fact that I am a novice French-speaker! You'll love this CD, just kick back and enjoy!

boogaerts has this little boy voice that is wonderfully gentle and sweet, like his music. his music is guitar-based, but on this album it oftentimes incorporates brass; the feel of other types of music, such as african, spanish, and jazz; and colorful instruments like the glockenspiel. this album is in general a little more upbeat and has a wider palette of sounds than his follow up, 2000, but both have a fair number of slower songs and a general light-hearted sense of fun. although you may not want to have this one on repeat for a week, it's great to chill to and to cheer up a cold winter's day. if you like boogaerts (or "booger" as his american fans affectionately call him), check out tahiti 80 (also french), and vice versa.

The first album I heard from M. Boogaerts and it's good. Upbeat in a reggae-jazzy kind of pop way, but not really pop at all. I still play it once in a while because it sounds good and also brings back some awesome memories. I have all of Boogaerts' albums. This one is the most upbeat of them. Awesome french-indie music. A definite keeper.

Listening to that record, music seems the easiest thing to do on earth. Just take simple slow-reggae rythms, words that seem to come from your all-day life, and there you have... An album that sounds like nothing else. A great moment of French music!!

Mathieu Boogaerts is one of the very most talented people on the entire planet. This album is my absolute favorite album and I am a HUGE music fan. I dig to find new, good music, while enjoying classic rock as well. To me, Mathieu has a very special quality that I have never heard before and never expect to hear again. This was by far the best $15 I've ever spent so far in my life. I am dying to purchase his other two albums, "J'en ai marre d'être deux" and "2000". However I'm not sure if they are available in the United States. If not, I'm hopping on a plane as soon as I can to fetch these albums in France.

I would recommend "Super" to anyone with a soul who wants to feel any kind of emotion. Basically, that's everyone.
