Super Mixer is A Good COmp of 90's Alt Rock and Punk., November 4, 2008
This review is from: Super Mixer (Audio CD)
Good mix from a good San Diego label that thrived in the 90s. This has otherwise unreleased tracks from No Knife, Boilermaker, 100 Watt Halo, as well as tracks from Knapsack, Chinchilla, Big Drill Car, Deerheart, Cold Crank, Overwhelming Colorfast, Unleaded, Fluf, 99 Tales and more. Good stuff -- if you know these bands you know what this sounds like -- mostly melodic punk, some of what was originally called emo from some of the bands like No Knife and Boilermaker (that has nothing to do with what is called emo today) and some catchy alt.rock from other bands. Good comp that represents the era well. Worth these prices for the unreleased songs if you're a fan of the bands.
