Deception at its highest!,
This review is from: Super Nintendo Controller (Video Game)
This came as such a great disappointment to me. I ordered two of these for a Christmas gift for a friend, and they are nothing like the original 1991 controllers that came with the Super Nintendo system. This website is misleading; as for one thing, no boxes came with it as in the picture, and the controller had a different color scheme, buttons that stuck out and were uncomfortable, a cord length that is ridiculous to fathom playing with, and plug ends that didn't even have the Nintendo logo on them. If you compare the controllers to the picture, there is a considerable difference in appearance, and I feel I have been scammed into buying these, as the website doesn't reveal the truth about these controllers; instead they post a picture of an original controller, a product this is not. This isn't even about nostalgic purposes either, as the controller really didn't pass my performance tests either. I tested it with Super Mario World, and can vouch that it was much more difficult to play with than my previous authentic controllers. I suppose the one good thing in the matter is that there is a 30 day no questions asked guarantee, and also the shipping and handling will be reimbursed. Well. It's ashamed I wasted my time with these. This was not what I was looking for, and if you are ordering these, do not expect what you see in the picture. Instead, expect something much more generic. I just don't understand why Nintendo's name is on this product. If I were Wei Yen, this would embarrass me so much.

Mannnn.... I've been had!!! I was trying to replace the crappy controllers that come with the FC TWIN... only to find out, these aren't any better!!! I could tell as soon as I looked at the controller it was a cheap ripoff! AND I HAVEN'T HELD ONE OF THESE IN 10+ YEARS!!!! The plastic looks different... it just looks different! And yes, just like others mentioned, when I plugged it in I thought to myself (wasn't this cord longer?!) because that was a complaint about the FC TWIN Cords among them just sucking in general..... MAN, I bought TWO of these peices of crap! Now I have 4 bad controllers! LOL...Now, I gotta go find a REAL one for like 30 dollars... YIPPPPIEEEE.... Get this controller if you want, 2 bucks is a good deal, but THIS ISN'T AN REAL SUPER NINTENDO CONTROLLER!!!! Just a knockoff/lookalike.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

For starters, see that picture that Amazon is displaying? Well, that's a picture of a fake SNES controller manufactured by Yobo. The box shown, while designed to look official, is not the box for official SNES controllers. The actual Nintendo-brand controllers were a mostly black box with gray stripes on it, forming a similar logo to the one found on all the game boxes in the lower-right corner. The box used by Yobo to deceive customers is actually based on the SNES model 2 box.
Do I have a problem with Amazon listing these controllers? Not really. But Amazon needs to get its listings straight. The picture shown is NOT a picture of an official Super Nintendo controller. This should be listed as "Super Nintendo controller by Yobo", not "Super Nintendo Controller by Nintendo". Then, there should be a SEPARATE listing for used official SNES controllers, under the name that this one is under now. So is this controller any good? Well, let me be honest, I have never touched them before, and I never intend to. But here is what I do know from other reviews: 1. The Start/Select buttons are plastic, not rubber. 2. The gray vinyl molding surrounding the buttons is olive in color, and it's a sticker, not a vinyl molding. 3. Most reviewers complain that the buttons are of terrible quality, though the d-pad is just fine. 4. The cord is short But here's the good news: Although Amazon screwed the listing up big-time, there are many people here selling genuine, Nintendo-made controllers on this page. Buy at your own risk, and ONLY buy if the seller explicitly states that they are Nintendo-brand controllers. NEVER buy a "new" controller, because you will get the crap Yobo controllers or some other 3rd party crap controller..
