I have now had three ferrets and all of them have enjoyed this product, although some more than others. I would not recommend it for any animal that likes to chew as the plastic is thin, but ferrets tend to be more interested in exploring what's inside. The plastic is flimsy, but this is actually a plus, as the tube can be stretched and wound around stationary objects in the house. My fiance tied our tunnel to the back top of our futon with cord and created a nice slide that the ferrets absolutely loved. When the ferrets get bored with this configuration, it can be altered into something else. The ferrets will chase each other in and out of it, or try to drag it across the floor. For extra excitement, you can throw a ball inside for the ferret to find and steal. This is not a toy for the cage; it's better used when playing with your ferret, and some ferrets need to be taught how to play with it. I have never had a problem creating interest, even with my most hesitant ferret (make a slide, throw a ball in there, or put the ferret in the tube and wiggle it around). This product is a little expensive, but there isn't anything else out there with the versatility. Everything else is too short or too inflexible. Ferrets love to go into small enclosed spaces, and this tube mimics the den that they might naturally dig if they lived in the wild. For me, this tunnel is a must-have ferret toy.

My rats love their tubes (I bought 2)! They chewed a little around the opening but they haven't punched a hole in them and I've had them for 6 months.

The description says you can use it for rats. My girls chewed through it in just a few minutes. It's a shame because they did enjoy playing in it, but they easily got out. The hard tubes are a much better choice for chewing pets.

I bought this at a clearance sale for 75% off a few years ago; a pet store was discontinuing its ferret products. My first three ferrets wanted nothing to do with it, so I put it away with everything else that they never used. Now those ferrets have passed and I have a pair of one-year olds that have "inherited" the old stuff. They love this thing, and chase each other through it constantly. It's hard to know what pets will play with and what will just bore them.

I purchased this several months ago for my two ferrets. While they do enjoy it somewhat, it always contracts back to being less than a foot long, no matter how much I try and stretch it out. I leave it hanging for days at a time and it seems stretched out so that there is actually a lot of tunnel for them to go through but it just crunches back up. Also, you can't select a color, which is mildly annoying, though I can't say the ferrets care. I highly recommend the Marhshall Ferret Super Thru-way instead. It is 20 feet long, and I was able to unravel it to its full length and it stayed that way, my ferrets LOVE it. While this tunnel seems to be sturdier, its really not more than a little tube because it always contracts. They vastly prefer the other one and while it seems to have a flimsier design, they havn't poked a hole in it yet.

I bought this for my three rats who absolutely love it. I tied it in a knot like it shows on the box and boy did that keep them busy... until the knot suddenly came untied! lol I would recommend securing both ends to keep this from happening. Unfortunately, this tunnel is too easy for a rat to chew through and so can only be used inside a cage or playpen. I had hoped to use it as a run that would come out of the cage and go around the built in shelves we have increasing their living area. Oh well. My rats have only chewed a little here and there so I still feel it is safe to use inside the cage. I am keeping it and will probably buy another to attach to the first.

My ferrets loved this toy, however, it is a bit tight for my larger boys. Because of the tightness, they had to dig their claws to pull themselves through. The plastic quickly ripped and became hazardous (since ferrets can get blockages easily). In addition, my tunnel never spread out. It was very tight and would snap back together like a slinky. I had to zip tie it to various things to keep it "open." In my opinion, if the tunnels were a bit larger in diameter and made of stronger material, it would be a better product.

I gave this product a 3 star, because it lasted 2 days then my Syrian hamster who is huge, ate through it. My fault of course it's meant for ferrets, bought it as a suggestion.
