I liked the size and portability of this carrier; however, the clasp on top is very hard to fasten/unfasten. My grandson has a hard time with it. I tried to just bend the clasp a bit but it didn't work too well.

I bought two of these to transport my pet birds on a transcontinental flight. The carrier comes with a perch, which is perfect for my parakeets. The wire spacings are small enough that my birds are safe in the cage (small birds can get their head stuck between the wires if the spacing is not narrow enough). Two of these carriers fit very well side by side in an airline-approved pet carrier (the clam shell type), which fit under the seat on a plane. The TSA inspected these cages by hand, did not need to take the birds out, and the whole security check process took only 5 minutes! I was also able to use the feeders I normally use that clip on to the horizontal wires securely. I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It's a simple cage, easy to assemble, and has just the right amount of space for a small pet. Both my birds arrived at the destination safe and sound after this 12-hour journey (first in a car then on the plane then in a car again).

This product is great and definitely worth purchasing if you are looking for a travel cage for your small bird (canary, parakeet, love bird, etc). The cage is not flimsy and is made of very sturdy coated metal which snaps together and stays together without coming apart. It has a nice carrying handle and a large top mounted access door. I have no problems latching the door. It works fine. You want a door that latches well for security for your pet during travel. The cage attaches to the bottom and is also sturdy once attached. The cage will not separate from the bottom when you are traveling about and holding it by the handle. The bottom is plastic and sturdy and has ridged lines on the inside bottom to prevent your pet from sliding around the floor of the cage during travel. I like that feature but I also put a mat on the bottom to line it when I travel with my bird to keep her comfortable and warm. It comes with a bird perch but my husband had to trim it down to fit because it was 1/2" too big to fit across. What I really love about this cage is that the front and back of the cage have horizontal bars so you can clip on a bird food and water dish for travel. This is an excellent feature. Kudos to the manufacturer for thinking of placinmg horizontal bars on those 2 areas. You can also purchase a small "Come Along Cover" to slide this cage into that adds more warmth and safety for your pet during travel. GREAT ITEM. Highly recommend.
