Got for my cockatoo and he loves them. They are a quality product too, made out of glass which is very strong good for water and food so pick up 2 or more if you want to feed your bird different kinds of food at the same time.

Really stopped the problem of two of my conures wasting more food than they consumed. The quality of the ceramics seems excellent. I would definately recommend these crocks to any bird owner and especially to those who have birds that like to scatter their food about the cage.

You can't pick your color on these. Mine was a very attractive black with white foam detail. The bird won't be able to chew this up like he does the others since it is ceramic which is one of the reasons I got it. The other was that the bird likes to splatter his water, which is usually dirty, all over the place. This water bowl does make that harder as advertised although not impossible. My main gripe with this product is that unless you have an attachable loop into which the lower part of this seems designed to fit into you will have to unscrew the whole thing from the cage every time you want to replace the water and clean it. Way too much trouble. I solved this by setting it into the water dish already in place which is large enough to hold it. The bird can still knock it around but has not knocked it out of place. My other gripe with this is that the dark color makes it very difficult to see how dirty the water inside is. These should only be manufactured in light or reflective colors for that reason. If it were sold with a cage attachable hoop or other device that made its removal for cleaning easier and if it were a light color it would be ideal.

Thought this was a cool dish to get so the birds wouldn't throw there food around. Well they were to scared to eat anything out of it. I think because it was to dark for them to see.... I ended out tossing it.

I had to order one of these after I only found one at Petsmart. They are very attractive and sturdy, and they contain much of the mess my finches try to make. I got the medium ones and most of the time the finches hop in to eat. I have to keep an eye out for droppings because of that, but they love 'em!

I have a young parrotlet and had read that some birds do NOT like placing their heads in a somewhat enclosed area to feed. This proved true for my parrotlet. For some reason, she will not eat out these dishes. They've been properly cleaned, but my goofy bird won't use them.

The design is a great idea to keep food from being scattered around, which is why I purchased them to begin with. Perhaps other kinds of small birds will use them but, unfortunately, my parrotlet did not.
