This is a fairly engaging easy reader, but be forewarned: the main character's sidekick, Ned, solves the problem when he says, "It is true that I am small, but God made me wise." This is repeated in Super Ace and the Traffic Jam as well. It's not explicitly Christian, but if you teach in a public school setting and are careful to avoid books with any religious content, you should avoid this series. Conversely, though, if you're a parent or teach in a parochial school and you have a struggling boy reader, absolutely, get this series!

I recently bought this book for my daughter, age 6. She enjoyed the colorful pictures and the simple but engaging story line. We laughed together at Super Ace, who tried to use his good looks and Super strength to solve the problem when what he really needed was wisdom. I've never seen an early reader series quite like this. It has the the feel of a Super-Hero comic book. It should appeal to a wide range of early readers!

This is our second Super Ace purchase. My kindergarten boy picked it out because the cover looked interesting to him. He liked the story and was able to read part of it himself. The repetition within the book and with other books in the series helped him focus on the storyline and follow it well. Overall, it was well worth the price for an exciting read that proves that you don't have to be a superhero to be super.

I do not know who wrote this book, but the content is unacceptable---even if you weren't looking for a Christian themed super hero character--and poorly written. Super Ace is a mean guy who treats his side kick terribly, doesn't learn any lessons and then heads off to his next adventure behaving as badly as before. The only christian reference is God's gift of wisdom for small, stereotypical nerd sidekick. The illustrations are great...and I rewrote the story (typed/cut/glued over words)...Now It is my son's favorite...but too much work.

This series really made me angry that it could be passed off as any kind of appropriate message for kids, let along Christian themed. Unacceptable.

My son loved the characters and the setting in outer space. We think it would have been better for SuperAce  to have acknowledged his prideful and rude behavior (choosing good) and apologize. It would have driven one of the points home more.
