This quirky book's contents are as follows: Scary Families, Famous Scaries, The Living Dead, Deathly Companions, and Creepy Trinkets. Some of the items include: a mummy, Dr. Death, Bigfoot, a vampire, a bat, a devil, a werewolf, Mr. Pumpkinhead, a headless horseman, and 25 more. They are mostly real scary, not cutsey scary. For instance, there's Shaun the Shrunken Head. This is in the form of a necklace. Yes, a necklace. Not really something for little ones in my opinion. Of course, there is an age where these will be fun to have, because scary can be 'fun'. Anyway, it's your call.

The patterns are well written with yarn requirements clearly stated. There is a little introduction to each 'creature' which is fun to read. The pictures are first rate too. The finished sizes are also listed. For example, Mrs. Alien is 12 inches tall. She is one of the bigger ones; many are about 8 inches. For each round, the total of stitches just made is stated in parentheses. There are tips in some of the patterns.

35 is a higher than usual amount of patterns for this type of book. More 'scares' for your money! Have fun with it and try not to crochet in the dark; you never know what might be lurking in your yarn bag.

I love this book. The creatures are so freaking cute and everyone loves them. For the most part they are pretty easy to make and they don't take all that long.

I love this book! I have been crocheting the monsters with different weight yarns making whole families of beasts for my nephews. The boys really enjoy their monsters.

The book has some really interesting patterns, my biggest complaint is that I enjoy crochet, but not sewing. A lot of these patterns required fabric sewing as well crocheting.

Okay, maybe fun is not the right word for a "scary" book, but this one is so fun and appears to be just what the Witch Doctor ordered to make crocheting fun again! hehe If you want something different to do, please consider this one. I do not think you will regret it.

Took FOREVER to get here, but it was worth the wait in the end. My favorite are the vampire queen, the headless horseman and the shrunkin head necklace

Good sized book with many patterns that are the usual run of the mill. Have not made anything yet, so can't speak to quality of directions.

This book was lots of fun. The patterns given for the individual dolls don't precisely match the accompanying pictures (detail wise) but if you're an experienced crocheter you can figure it out on your own. I've made several of the dolls in the book already and they came out very nicely.
