I'm an artist who commonly deals with jewelry making and costumery, but I became curious about working with clay. At suggestion of a friend who made some beautiful clay jewelry on a website for artisans, I took a look at Super Sculpey and decided that for the price Super Sculpey was worth playing around with.

I love it. The texture is so smooth and sensitive to even the slightest indentations, but I definitely wouldn't want anything softer to work with. It's easy and fun to use, and it's easy to fire since you can do it in your oven!

I have left my creations out in the open for 2-weeks now, just to test it and sure enough, the clay is as soft as when I first opened the box!!!

Holds form excellently!

Easy to blend and remove seams when you put two pieces together.

I have not baked it yet but my expectations are nothing short of perfection!

We use "Super Sculpey" in our mold making business whenever the regular white Sculpey (Sculpey Sculpey Original Clay - White) will not be firm enough for the piece we are making.

This polymer clay is very easy to form once you get it worked a bit and warmed up. It can be made perfectly smooth abut also holds detail very well. We have pieces made over two years ago that still look as good as day we made them.

Good product and it doesn't leave fingerprints very easily. Smooths seams easily. I am a relatively new sculpting person but I have been using clay for approximately two years and I find this the best of all of them.

This product came to me in a small plain cardboard box wrapped in bubblewrap without any instructions for baking or any tips on anything at all. No Super Sculpey box, and no instructions, which really bothers me since I paid a nice chunk of money (for me anyway) for this. I'm assuming it is just a chunk cut from some sort of massive bulk block. Since I've never had Sculpey before, I can only assume it is what it is supposed to be, and that it is in fact Sculpey and not some off-brand whatever. It is a light tan color, the texture seems nice, and there are no signs of drying.

UPDATE: It has been a few months, and I have since had a chance to play with this stuff a bit more, and ponder on my purchase. I've been using it to make pendants for necklaces, and it is very nifty. It sands well after baking, is semi-flexible from what I can tell (my pendants are pretty thin), and seems to hold paints (I've just been using acrylic with a glossy topcoat) relatively well. I looked up baking directions online... and when you bake it there is a definite toxic odor smell... but turns out nice, and the home oven baking concept is really convenient. Still no sign of drying on the block, and it still kneads into a good smooth texture. ((Bake in a preheated 275° F (130° C) oven for 15 minutes per 1/4" (6 mm) of thickness.))

This clay is excellent to work. I love it!! If you want to buy THE ONE, you need to buy Super Sculpey!!

havent used sculpey since i was a little kid, but its just the same stuff! kinda slimy if you dont bake it but whatever!

does its job! i am an industrial designer and this stuff works great for rapid prototyping and modeling.

Excellent Product. Not too hard not too soft. A bit pricy but at least you get what you pay for

I used this to practice sculpting and the gkids liked it so much it was soon lost to their possession. Lasts a long time, well I wouldn't really know, it was taken, LOL.
