Book Description

10 and up
It's a laugh riot as you wend and weave your way through 40 seriously silly mazes. Clever combinations of tricky mazes and goofy cartoons, these "mazoons" are sure to tickle your funny bone and boggle your brain at the same time. There's only one right way to solve these labyrinths of laughter, but don't be fooled into thinking they're easy! Beware of twists and turns and crazy confusions designed to lead you down the wrong path. Don't get taken to the cleaners by the "Washing Maze-chine." The answer to "Maze-stache" might just be right under your nose, and to solve one pool-shaped puzzler you'll have to "Think or Swim." Several "What Is It?" mazes add to the fun--featuring paths with letters on them so that when you complete the maze successfully you've spelled out the answer to a cartoon puzzle. Once you get started you'll be "maze-merized!"

5.0 out of 5 stars A Welcome Twist, July 10, 2002
By
Leslie G.Hill (Florissant, MO United States) - See all my reviews

Regardless of your age, this book of mazoons (a combination of maze/cartoons) is fun from start to finish. It is wonderful to see an artist create a new twist on an ageless form of entertainment. Mr. Hall's book shows that, rather than thinking outside of the box, sometimes it is better to get rid of the box all together.
You won't find computer generated square puzzles here. Each one is unique and original. I can't wait to see what tickles his fancy next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Art Work and Lots of Fun, May 15, 2002

This review is from: Super Silly Mazes (Paperback)
I just got my copy of Super Silly Mazes and I am really enjoying it. It says for kids 9 to 12 years old, but I'm a kid much older than that ;). The integration of cartoons and mazes (thus "Mazoons") is a unique idea. You can see the influence that Mad Magazine had on Jody that he started reading at an early age. His new book is a lot of fun and I recommend it highly, even though I'm his biggest critic...and also his dad. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best maze books, July 4, 2008
This review is from: Super Silly Mazes (Paperback)
If you are a lover of mazes, you will love this book. I sure hope that Jody Hall publishes some more books. Not only are the puzzles challenging, but they are also fun. It's a great combination: humor and puzzles. I love to work the mazes and then color them in. Yes, I like to color, too. I guess I am a kid at heart. This is a great book for adults as well as kids because it is not the "same ol', same ol'." Variety, challenge, laughter, and of course a coloring book; what more could you ask for.
