Or more importantly, my kids love this book. One of my children has Asperger Syndrome and idioms have always been a complete mystery to him. He has now memorized all of the book's idioms and their respective meanings. My daughter, who doesn't have Asperger Syndrome, loves this book just as much as her brother does. The illustrations are beautiful, kudos to the artist. Great use of colors and completely adorable children and animals who seem to come to life on the pages. Interesting use of photo-realistic black and white illustrations to separate the color illustrations and define categories. It's difficult to explain but this contrast provides a very unique and surprisingly logical effect. There are some illustrators who have easily recognizable styles, like Maurice Sendak, Mary Engelbreit, etc., and I see that kind of strong individualistic imprint with this artist.

I purchased an extra copy and donated it to my child's school because it's an extraordinary educational tool. Highly recommended.

I am a speech therapist and I work with children who have autism. This book has been wonderful for these children. They love the pictures which help with such abstract meanings. This book is also great for the children with other types of language disorders, too! Thank you, Catherine Snodgrass!

This is a great idiom book for children, and you will have a lot of fun teaching yours the idioms enclosed. The illustrations are fabulous, and the idioms are fun. This book definitely would have gotten four stars if it were longer than 29 pages. That being said, these are high-quality idioms and high-quality illustrations from a high-quality author. Ms. Snodgrass does an amazing job in this genre.

This is a fun guide to helping kids understand all those crazy sayings that most of us just naturally understand through experience...highly recommended!

Purchased this book for classroom use- specifically for my fourth grade English language learners. The illustrations and simple text help the students understand what an idiom is, and the students enjoy reading it.
