Product Description

Product Description

These rare-earth, iron boron magnets are the most powerful available today. They are perfect for applications where more holding power is required. Because of their compact size and attractive chrome-type finish they can be used in crafts, to hold signs in place, to display window art, as a tool holder in the workshop and many other applications. For example, you could glue one to a window ornament such as a suncatcher, then hold it in place by placing another magnet behind it on the outside of the window. The magnetism is strong enough to easily hold your decoration through the glass. These N35 grade magnets measure 1/2" in diameter and only 1/16" thick, small enough to be used in almost any application, but will amaze you with their pulling power of approximately 2-3/4 lbs. A word of caution: These magnets are not toys and should never be given to children. Adults, too, should use them with caution. Several together can increase the magnetism and can pinch fingers, etc. Do not put them near any electronic devices such as computers and never allow anyone with a pacemaker to use them. If you need to separate one from another slide them apart rather than pull them. With reasonable care you will find these wonderful magnets offer a myriad of uses in the studio, workshop, home or office. This offer is for a package of 100 of these rare-earth magnets.

4.0 out of 5 stars When they say strong - they mean strong, March 1, 2006
By Sara Ann (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
These little guys really pack a punch. I purchased them to hang pics on my fridge...and found i could hang so much more. The edges are rounded so they don't scratch. The only negative is they are so strong they are difficult to pry apart. But - you get what you pay for :-)

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Attractive Magnets at an Unattractive Price, January 27, 2008
As far as quality goes, these magnets are great. I ordered them in October of 2007 (for various craft projects) and was coming back for more when the enormous jump in price stopped me in my tracks.

What was previously $25 is now $32. Maybe rare earth magnets got so rare that they are now almost extinct?

and $11 for shipping? These magnets are strong, but heavy they are not. Previously shipping was $6.50 and even then it was a little high. Priority mail postage for an item like this costs $3.00 at the post-office. Throw it in a box, tape it up, drive to the post office to mail it and maybe I can see the $6.50. But $11? No way. I will not be ordering from this seller again.

If you really really need these specific magnets, buy them, they work great. But you might want to get a second job to pay the jacked up prices.

5.0 out of 5 stars Supermagnets, March 8, 2007
By M. Tufft (West Chester, OH United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
These are very small, very strong supermagnets. As someone else mentioned, you have to work a bit to pry them apart from each other to use them. But they have great holding power and can be used in many ways.

I was looking for a way to hang a quilt I made to a metal bookcase front. I was going to use stainless steel hook magnets to hold a wood dowel from the top of the cabinet, but I found that just using supermagnets on the front did a better job of holding the quilt flush to the bookcase. I ended up getting these .5" diameter supermagnets and sewing a sleeve on the back spacing about 18 of the magnets out over the 36" length, with a thin wood dowel at the top. It holds the quilt flush to the surface of the cabinet, and the magnets are hidden from view. I will just need to remove the sleeve before washing the quilt - not a problem since it is decorative and will not be washed on a regular basis.

For what I needed, these did a great job.
