I tried two of these cards in my Dell Mini 9 without success.

Card installed easily but was not detected by the BIOS ("HDD: None"). Even so, the OS installed fine and the Mini worked fine for a few days. Then -- poof -- the Mini would not boot. Booted off a USB drive (Ubuntu) and the device (/dev/sda) was not seen at all. Reseating the HW was of no help. Put back the orignal SSD, and the Mini works fine.

Judging by the web postings I read, this seems to be a not too uncommon problem.

I bought this product after my stock drive had died in my Dell mini 9. I got it and installed Windows 7 on it. Works perfectly except it's REALLY slow. This thing slows down my whole system. I am returning this one and getting a RunCore drive.

DO NOT buy this drive if you care about performance

I replaced my 32GB Corsair with this because the Corsair was too fat to work with my MacBook Air. I also wanted something faster. It's very fast and very well made. I like to wear these around my neck because I've had too many fail in my pockets. I like the size because I can now leave my notebook alone in a hotel room etc. without the fear of loss of data. I just wish the notebook manufacturers would figure this out and have instantly removable SSDs. Buy the way, I switched to the Air after buying Sony's carbon fiber superlight notebook and found Vista spoiled it. If you want to read more on these two, click here:

5 STAR REDUX -----

At first it was great and I gave it 5 stars. But then it stopped working and most of the sectors went bad. Couldn't do a low level format. Sent it back and 20% of the sectors in the second one failed too. Third was in for a day before it locked its write mode and wouldn't let me write to it. So, we're in for a 4th try.

That said, SuperTalent has been super in taking the returns back and working to fix the problem. They say they haven't seen this with anyone else and I am trying to move between OSx and XP machines. Most of their customers are in XP. So I gave them a 5 before for performance and now a 5 for support. But a 1 on reliability and hassle for an average of a 3. I really want this to work because of the speed and form factor. I'll follow up again as they are still working hard to work it out.

Very simple swap out upgrade for the Dell Mini 9 and sister model Vostro A90. Literally a less than 5 minute job.

Price was very cheap. Arrived in a flash. Installed in two minutes with two screws. Worked perfectly. Still works perfectly today 26 Sep. I love it. >>> Sucrow

This item works perfectly on Dell Mini 9! Tested with Meego and Ubuntu Netbook installation without any issues.

Swapped out the Dell Mini 9 factory 8gb hard drive with this Super Talent 32gb drive. I didn't rebuild the computer, I ghosted over the exact same operating system from the old drive to the new one, which worked very well - but really pointed out that the new drive is quite a bit slower than the factory drive, especially on writes. However, since this _is_ a netbook, we're not really talking about all-out performance here, are we? And, after a little while, you really don't notice the performance decrease, and it's great to have all the extra space to keep videos on to keep the ~2-year-old entertained when we're travelling. No problems or issues with daily use for over a month so far.

Although this fit in my Dell Mini 9, it worked for about an hour. The Mini started to show drive errors and not boot. Amazon was great about refunding my money, though.

Had some installation issues with the original SSD delivered to me by Amazon, not too sure how the product was defective other than Ubuntu, Fedora, and other OSs faced some sort of obstacle during installation.

Replacement SSD shipped by Amazon worked perfectly. Easy 5 minute installation and no issues as of 3 weeks. Highly recommended for upgrading your Dell Mini 9 or related netbooks.

I ended up getting this for my Dell Vostro A80 because the 8gb just wasn't enough space. Installation was very easy. I tried using disk utility to image my old drive to the new drive. Unfortunately, it initially worked, then after reboot the ssd was not recognized by the computer. I removed and reinstalled the ssd and then installed the OS from scratch. So far, one week later works great.
