A largely under-appreciated group,

This review is from: Super Terrific Happy Hour (Audio CD)
One Hundred Days was originally known under the name The Awakening, which was a very talented band, though largely unrecognized. This group has been marketed as a Christian band. Though many of their songs could easily appeal to secular audiences, they always manage to include a few gems with amazing spiritual depth. This particular album is certainly one worth feeling proud of. They managed to break clean away from the boring three-chord songs of the typical garage band, venturing into some colorful combinations that make amateurs like me want to trade the guitar for a CD or MP3 player. These guys do it so much better. The music style is peppy, modern and usually upbeat, with nothing too raucous. There's no screaming, only singing. It's feel-good music with a few sad songs thrown in. |
