I usually don't write reviews, but I notice there aren't many written on this Cool Jam Pro. I purchased mine in 3 years ago. At the time, there were no reviews, but i liked the price and it looked easy to adjust for my 3 boys. Well, three years later it is still going strong (minus the sticker, which fell off after year 1). I leave it outdoors all winter, and it is in perfect working order today. Very durable. Easy to adjust the height. The ball is excellent as well! The price makes it a no-brainer, as it really is a great product. I am considering buying another one, just in case!

I have three active boys who love this! It assembles in seconds and is extremely durable. The only issue we had was the backboard sticker came folded in the box and we were unable to adhere it properly. We left it off and were satisfied with that. It has two different heights that are very easy to adjust. I have not seen any other poolside basketball hoops that are this sturdy and well made. We highly recommend this product.

Backboard and hoop are great, however the ball is very lightweight and thin, actually the ball popped within a week of use so we decided to use a regular basketball and a water polo ball (which works just fine). Has provided much entertainment for the entire family.

Fun to play with in the pool... one problem: you need a place to put it. Somewhere easy to shoot, and dunk (not hard). More in the shallow on the edge.

Most of this pool-side basketball game is good except for the net and the rim. The net totally disintegrated within two months of purchase and the hooks for mounting the net started falling off a few weeks after that, so now I have to buy a replacement rim and net. Also, the screws that hold the rim to the backboard were regular steel and started rusting within a few weeks. I replaced them with stainless steel. Despite the above problems, overall I'm satisfied. David Greenbaum. There is also an issue reported by another owner about the bottom of the sides (which hold the water which weights the unit down) wearing through which is a MAJOR problem. I highly recommend the Cool Jam Pro Poolside Basketball system. It is every bit as good as some other poolside systems but costs hundreds of dollars less. It is sturdy, doesn't wobble and missed shots return to the pool. It is incredibly easy to assemble, it basically snaps together and the hardware is enclosed to attach the rim to the backboard. My only issue was that 2 washers were missing from the bag of hardware...it was no big deal since I had the same size washers, but it could have necessitated a trip to the hardware store. I used one day shipping, it arrived the next day and my kids were playing with it in the pool 15 minutes later. You can't go wrong with this basketball system, and you will save $300-$500 over similar poolside systems.

I bought this basketball hoop about six weeks ago based on the multitude of favorable Amazon reviews. Over the past six weeks the hoop has gotten a lot of use by a lot of kids, but it is already falling apart. The net on the hoop has all but disintegrated from the kids going up for shots and catching their fingers in it. At this point, there is only about 3" of net hanging from the rim. I'll now have to see if a replacement can be purchased from Swimline.

The worst problem, however, is that the sidewalls of the goal, which double as water tanks for weight, do not have any type of reinforcement on the bottoms, which act as the feet for the unit. Because of this, every minor movement of the goal on the non-skid surface of the concrete pool deck has caused the thin plastic feet to wear, such that after only a few weeks they have worn through and no longer hold water. Without water for weight, the goal tips every time it is touched and has become a hazard for the kids to use.

I would not recommend this product unless or until the manufacturer does something to reinforce the bottoms of the sidewalls.

Oh, and one last irritation with this product is that the sealed Swimline box, as received from Amazon, was missing the mounting hardware for the basketball hoop, which cost me another $6 at the local hardware store.

The Cool Jam Pro is great for kids up to about 12 years old. It's durable, sturdy, heavy duty and easy to assemble. The only drawback is that, if the rim gets bent, you can't find another one of that size anywhere. It's smaller than the standard 5/8" rim, which is too heavy for use with the Cool Jam Pro.

I bought one of these about a month ago, and I love it. My neighbors have a very similar one that cost $700, so I was a little concerned about the quality of one costing $500 less. This is well made, and snaps together in literally five minutes. It uses a regular backetball rim. It bolts to the backboard with four bolts and eight washers. My kit only came with six washers, which was a dissapointment because everything else was so good. The ball it comes with is OK...nothing great. Ours has not popped yet, but I expect it to shortly. The base is very stable, even if you don't fill it up with water like you are supposed to. I recommend buying this product.

I has seen other rims priced much higher so I was worried. Now on our third year using this for summer-in-the-pool-fun. It seems as sturdy as when I got it. The metal bolts (4) seem to rust out a little but so does most non-stainless metal around a pool. The backboard sticker is quite pointless as it is almost faded into oblivion but I don't really think that affects the enjoyment me and my kids get out of this thing.

I am, however, quite disappoint in my own 720 degree windmill slam dunk capability! My son has even called me a white Larry Bird! Can you imagine! So, anyway, white folks beware.
