Superfunky!,
This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
This soundtrack features funk classics alongside new material by Bootsy Collins. Unlike most movie soundtracks, "Superbad" is an instant classic that actually stands on its own without foreknowledge of the film. A fun, "superfunky" album! One note for fans of the film: There are several songs from key points in the movie missing from the soundtrack, among those Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold," the Guess Who's "These Eyes," the Coup's "Pork and Beef," Van Halen's "Panama," and "Are You Man Enough" by the Four Tops. I'm guessing that they didn't include these songs (among others) because of the cost of licensing and/or they don't match the funk overtones of the album. If you're looking for the "missing" songs, I suggest grabbing them from iTunes and mixing them with this album to make your own compilation.

McLovin in the house,

This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
Great stuff!! I just wanted to add a few more of the "missing" tracks that may not have been mentioned previously. When the cops are driving McLovin the radio is playing Barry and The Remains "Why do I Cry". At the party first Seth dances to "Echoes" by The Rapture. The song that plays right after that is the classic "Big Poppa" by Notorious B.I.G. Later in the movie songs played in the cop car: "Journey To The Center Of The Mind" by Amboy Dukes and "Baby Please Don't Go" by Van Morrison.

Very Good Soundtrack,
This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
I bought this CD because Reggie Young, the trombonist for Earth, Wind and Fire, plays on the soundtrack. The CD also features some great music by Bootsy Collins, Parliament and others. It's a fun, funky soundtrack. I like it alot and have listened to it many times.

Does anybody the name of the song that plays during the opening credits, where they're dancing and all the funky colors are popping up?I thought it was Shooting Star by Eart, Wind & Fire but I don't see it on the soundtrack... Thanks! Overall, great soundtrack! Good classics for a hit new movie!

Superbad Soundtrack,
This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
This is a hilarious movie with an awesome '70's funk soundtrack. The coolest part is that the new music created for the film matches the retro tracks used in the movie. Truly inspired! Nice job by everyone involved.

This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
I'm not sure how good this kid-flick will be,but after checking out the soundtrack's myspace page I've gotta say that Bootsy Collins,Bernie Worrell,Catfish, etc are in top form! the soundtrack's worth it as a new album from funkateers of past if anything!

Where's the real soundtrack?,
By Jake (Chicago) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
Uh, this soundtrack has all the backing funk music which is cool, but it lacks all the songs that you might actually remember and made the movie so great. Its missing: Panama by Van Halen, the dance song with Seth and the bloody leg, Notorious BIG's, These Eyes, etc. Don't buy this unless you know what you are getting - a lot of funk by one artist, not the soundtrack you were hoping for.

What song...?,
This review is from: Superbad (Audio CD)
What song plays in the movie when the two cops bust the party towards the end? It goes something like "F*** the police, they'll have you face down in the middle of the street"?
