5.0 out of 5 stars holy sh**
I bought this album during the 16volt concert at the Warehouse in Milwaukee, Wi. It was the best concert ever! That was two years ago. I still love listening to this CD. People who don't like this music don't really know why they are listening to industrial. I used to think it was the best album I had ever heard, and even though I have other favorites, this one...

1.0 out of 5 stars Once-promising band gone down the tubes
I've had 16 Volt's debut, Wisdom, for about 5 years before I bought SuperCoolNothing. Frankly, I'm suprised this is the same band. It seems like every novel and promising trait 16 Volt once had has been stripped away and replaced with the most generic of elements. Wisdom offered an industrial album punctuated with garage-ready guitar work, a welcome change in a market...

I bought this album during the 16volt concert at the Warehouse in Milwaukee, Wi. It was the best concert ever! That was two years ago. I still love listening to this CD. People who don't like this music don't really know why they are listening to industrial. I used to think it was the best album I had ever heard, and even though I have other favorites, this one rates at least 7 stars, not just five. If you like bands like Chemlab or KMFDM (R.I.P.) you just have to like supercoolnothing. If you are lucky, you might also be able to find 16volt's long lost release "letdowncrush"

peace

5.0 out of 5 stars A terrific album, November 28, 1999

This is truly a great album. It combines industrial style beats and sampling with pure punk aggression. There is not a bad song on the album.

Super Cool Nothing seems more complete than 16 volts previous records (which I also highly reccommend). Each track makes sense and leads you into the next.

This is easily the best album I bought in 1998.

It's very sad that 16 volt broke up and we will not be able to hear any new music.

If you like any kind of industrial, punk or other aggressive music you will certainly enjoy this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favourite CD of all time, April 20, 2000

I've been a fan of 16 Volt since Wisdom, and they've steadily improved as they wrote and released more material. On this CD, I feel that the band (mainly Eric Powell) were really onto something huge. Every tune is unique, spanning a broad range of influences and styles. Songs like Moutheater, Happy Pill, And I go ... No one else has created sounds or tunes like these. The appearance of Chris Vrenna (former NIN drummer) really adds a whole new dimension to the 16 Volt phenomenon. It's an abslute travesty that Eric has called it quits. Appropriately, however, Supercoolnothing is certainly the masterpiece that I anticipated; a perfect capper for a string of amazing records.

Eric, if you ever happen to read this ... 'This won't destroy me.' You said it yourself. So don't let it happen.

I just recently purchased this CD, and I must say it sounds really awesome. I'm not sure if it would remind me of bands like Chemlab (which I highly recommend for any industrial band), but this album is extremely good. It is very different from a lot of other industrial that I've heard. It has more guitars and the vocals aren't quite as harsh, but it's still great nonetheless. So why only four stars? I couldn't really get into every song. The first one starts out very strong and gets you hyped up. Then, it sort of goes into a short drought. "Don't pray" is a good song, and then it doesn't get really great again until "Happy pill." But overall, I like this album and recommend it for industrial, and even metal, fans. Very good album. Go out and get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Man, its impossible to do this justice, March 8, 2006
This review is from: Super Cool Nothing (Audio CD)
Each and every Rivethead out there, and even metalheads, take not of this. SuperCoolNothing is an artistic masterpiece. Raging riffs, sinister, nursery rhyme like vocals, equal mix of electronic industrial soundscapes, everything. This is a fantastic finale to a great career, and though its sound is totally different to the awesome "Wisdom", its a perfect album.

(just a note... it wasnt a "team" which created wisdom, Keith "fluffy" Auberach of Ministry left halfway through the production of wisdom leaving it to Dave Ogilvie of Skinny Puppy)

The band really did it this time! Behind Krayge Tyler's raging riffs was a group of new tracks that transcend the industrial genre. This is a must-have for all industrial fans!!! As one of the newer members, ex-Virus 23 guitarist Krayge Tyler fits right in with the band, helping it expand the envelope to new horizons.

Wow. There really isn't much more I can say to describe the power and intensity of this album. You simply must get this album if you're even slightly interested in industrial at all. It'll blow you away. From the hardcore grind-fest of "I Fail Truth" to the frighteningly mellow and ultimately ominous "Keep Sleeping", this collection of mind-bending sounds, distortion, insanity, and utter beauty will leave you at a total loss for words. It's that good. Believe me.

This is by far one of the most underrated CD's in the industrial or hard rock genre. I highly recommend it if you can find one.

This is the best CD I've heard in recent memory. It has an brilliant mixture of elctronic sounds, hard guitars, and swings into beautiful melodic interludes. If you enjoy hard edged rock or industrial music, you have to check out this CD.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Solid 16 Volt effort, October 11, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Super Cool Nothing (Audio CD)
Super Cool Nothing is the fourth full length album by 16 Volt. As with the past discs you get hooked in immedialtely. From the driving Machine Kit, to the melodic At the End, 16 Volt should appeal to any Industrometal heads. The insert art alone is worth checking out. I only give this a four star because I personally don't think this album surpasses their debut disc Wisdom. If this were a first release by an unknown I'd give it a 5.
