4.0 out of 5 stars Clearing up the confusion on Treadsolid (14GS) and Treadmat (11GS)
I don't actually have this item so can't review it personally, but I thought I'd try to clear up some of the confusion regarding the two different types of Supermats that come in the 3'x6.5' size. Apparently there is a Treadmat (model 11GS) that is cheaper but THICKER. The Treadsolid (model 14GS) is more expensive but THINNER. But here, thickness is misleading because...

3.0 out of 5 stars Treadsolid or Treadmat?
I returned the Treadsolid mat sent to me because the box it was shipped in was labeled Treadmat rather than Treadsolid. The Treadmat sells for $20 less than the Treadsolid. To me, it seems as if Amazon put the wrong product tracking label on the box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Clearing up the confusion on Treadsolid (14GS) and Treadmat (11GS), December 13, 2010
This review is from: Supermats 3'x6.5' Treadsolid (Sports)
I don't actually have this item so can't review it personally, but I thought I'd try to clear up some of the confusion regarding the two different types of Supermats that come in the 3'x6.5' size. Apparently there is a Treadmat (model 11GS) that is cheaper but THICKER. The Treadsolid (model 14GS) is more expensive but THINNER. But here, thickness is misleading because of the type of material used. For those of you who ordered the Treadsolid and received a mat with 1/8" thickness, that seems to be the correct thickness because this is a solid PVC vinyl mat, rather than a foam mat (which is used in the cheaper yet thicker 11GS).

Here is a helpful explanation/review I found online while researching these mats:

"Review of the Supermats Various Mats
The 14GS Supermat, 15GS Supermat, 27GS Supermat and 29GS Supermat Equipment mats have a thickness of 1/8" and are made of solid vinyl. Many of the other mats on the market are thicker (usually 1/4") - including the SuperMats styles 10GS Supermat, 11GS Supermat, 12GS Supermat and 30GS Supermat - but are foam vinyl. Foam vinyl flooring mats are half the material and half the weight because the are made with a blowing agent which adds the air and makes them foam. These foam vinyl mats are great for mats that are not going to be used with heavy traffic or equipment."

"However, if you need a mat that will take abuse (i.e. the continuous pounding and side to side and front to back stress of a treadmill) with out ripping the mat the 1/8" solid mats are the equipment mat of choice. For the few bucks more you get twice the mat."

5.0 out of 5 stars Functional, July 30, 2007

Not a lot to say about a mat... but it is very functional, sturdy and really does "level the playing field" so to speak. Heavy weight (and Heavy!!) does a nice job on floor to floor carpeting if that's all you have to work with...

This mat is of excellant quality and priced below some much less durable. I have it under 260 lb. treadmill and it works well.

This mat is under a 250# treadmill. So far, it meets or surpasses all expectations. Great value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for the job, February 5, 2010

I am completely satisfied with this purchase. The mat is about 1/3 inch thick and the material is very durable. I placed it under a gym quality treadmill. It was exactly the right size. The mat was slightly textured on one side. It rolled out flat and did not have any adverse smell.

If the mat was indeed the Treadsolid, I was disappointed to see only an 1/8 inch thick mat - especially for the price. Being so thin, I was concerned it wouldn't absorb vibrations very well or perform well on carpet. It did appear as if it would be near impossible to rip or tear this mat though.

I am using it for my elliptical trainer in a room with carpet. Compared with other mats I can find in Sears/Sports Authority/Dick's Sporting Goods, the quality of this mat is far better than the rest.

1.0 out of 5 stars Incorrect description, October 8, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The write-up for this product gave me the impression that this mat was thick, at least 1/4", if not 3/8." When the mat arrived, the box clearly said 3' x 6.5' by 1/8". This product is a 1/8" thick mat. If that's what you want, it might be fine. If not, you will end up having to return it like I did. At least Amazon was very quick with the return, but all of this back and forth could have been prevented by simply stating the thickness as 1/8" in the item description.

I have a SOLE gym quality treadmill and needed a mat to go underneath to protect my carpet. This fit the bill perfectly for me. It was heavy duty, not spongey and thick like a workout mat its more just to protect your flooring. The size was perfect, I knew to go for the bigger supermat as the smaller size would have been to short. Hope this helps. Thanks Amazon for the free shipping. Ill always return thanks to that.

5.0 out of 5 stars Floor Mat for Exercise Bike, September 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Supermats 3'x6.5' Treadsolid (Sports)
I could tell from the minute I spread this mat out that it was a good purchase. It not only protects the carpet but it makes it easier for me to sweep under my exercise bike allowing me to keep that area clean. I live in an apartment with carpeting and I was worried about the bike doing damage to it. With this mat I am certaing that will not happen. I would reccommend if you are considering buying a heavy piece of equipment (bike, treadmill, or anyother piece of excercise equipment) to purchase this mat.
