Fabulous Bif!,
This review is from: Superbeautiful Monster (Audio CD)
Raised by wolves, tattooed from head to foot, Bif is a secret that is getting out fast. A lot of the material on this album is pure pop, but Bif delivers with a conviction that is scary. She sings like her salvation depends on it, like nothing else matters, and that puts her in a different world from slyer products like Gwen Stefani. She has the instant-appeal songwriting genius of an Avril Lavigne, but the extra decade of tough living makes her much more interesting to older listeners, with reminsicences of Siouxsie, Blondie, Shirley Manson and Chrissie Hynde. She has more humour than any of these, though.
Superbeautifulmonster is even better than I, Bificus and I hope her record company gets behind her and catapults her to the stardom she deserves. Great stuff!

Bif Naked finally makes the proper follow-up to "I Bificus".
Here we find all the vastly entertaining pop-punk-rock-alternative music she displayed on THAT record. You have the urgent, desperate rock tunes, the aching ballads, the seductive mid-tempo songs...all well produced, with intelligent, clever lyrics. The musicianship is top-notch, with her powerful vocals leading the way. If you loved "Bificus", this is a no-brainer. Welcome back, Miss Naked.

Biffy's Back!,

This review is from: Superbeautiful Monster (Audio CD)
Bif Naked does it again with another fantastic album! This woman never ceases to amaze me with the way her music continues to evolve. She's been doing this for quite some time now, and she literally just keeps getting better. I keep waiting for that Bif Naked album that comes out that I don't think is every bit as good as the previous one and then some. "Superbeautifulmonster" doesn't change that trend.
"Let Down" is an amazing song about the 30-somethings that finish school and live in their parent's basement. Not only is it a great song, but the lyrics are particularly timely to a growing situation here in the States. "That's Life" is one of my all-time favorite Bif songs. "I Want" and "Henry" are my other favorite tracks on this album. Bif is often referred to as a sort of "modern-day-Joan-Jett". I think it's a reasonable analogy to her style. For those who might not have sampled Bif's work before, my recommendation is to start with her "Essentially Naked" album - if for no other reason than it has the kick-a $ $ track "Rich & Filthy"!!

Bif Naked Rides Again!,
By
This review is from: Superbeautifulmonster (Audio CD)
Bif Naked has managed to put out the best album of her career so far. This album shocked me, awed me, and left me genuinely giddy.
For any discerning fan of Ms. Naked's, there is a LOT of new material here. Never before has she managed to so innocently portray the dark and dirty act of sex as she does on this album. Specifically on "Funeral of a Good Grrl", she sings, almost matter-of-factly "Do it to me now! Do it to me now! I can't believe I just said it out loud!" She then follows that with a grunting confession of "I'll be rockin your world at the funeral of a good grrl." She has reached a level of maturity on this album that I never truly expected. Not that it is bad, quite the contrary in fact. But over the years, listening to "Dawn" and "Tango Shoes" and "Twitch", there was a sort of schoolgirl charm to it all. She cooed her way through those subjects and left us feeling bedazzled at our lockers. This album...I feel that Ms. Naked and I are equals, and she is telling me about her life. She isn't telling anyone, just me. She is opening herself up, and it is truly an amazing thing to behold. With some help, her lyrics have become beacons of her passion, the music the ship that she rides on. The fans keep the wind in the sails, and thus the Bif Naked boat can sail softly and gently into the sunset. There are quite a few radio songs on this disc. Besides the current single, Let Down (trivia, it is the only song on the disc she didn't write!), there are at least 4 or 5 other tracks that could make her big on the radio once again. Abandonment - I get a reminiscent feel of Eminem listening to the beginning of this song. "Well you packed me away in the trunk of your car. You drove me so fast and so far. I tried to fight, but it's too hard. My only momento is this scar!" It's a slower song, heartfelt and beautiful. It isn't soft though, no...it's a heavier slow song. Everyday - This song, and I was surprised to find this, has an amazing message. I don't think so far that Bif Naked has ever truly tried to influence people's ways of thinking. "If I had one wish: then, I would wish that you would live today like everyday - everyday is your last one." Soft, emotional, and great. Yeah, You - This song is sexy! She grunts and purrs her way through this one! This could be released for pure sex appeal, but the song is delicious outside of that. That's Life With Me - Very poppy, very catchy. Perhaps catchier than Tango Shoes, which is undoubtedly her catchiest song to date. You will LOVE this one. The rest are truly phenomenal, but I do have to point out one more thing. Nothing Else Matters - YES, this is a cover of the Metallica song. She doesn't change much, but she almost whispers the lyrics over the enchanting, haunting and lighter musical rendition. The male background singer actually adds a lot, and I find I might like this version better than the original. You CANNOT go wrong with this album. Whether you are a diehard Bif Naked fan (I LOVE HER!) or a recent addition to her fanbase, you will do yourself a favor by picking this up. And...hey you! Yeah, you, buddy! You would like this too! Get it, now, or Bif Naked will come and TORTURE you! Enjoy.

I was happy to see she had a new album out & did not hesitate to purchase as i am a fan of hers. This album has a more pop-'feel' to it. NOT to say it doesnt rock & contain all of Bif's Nakedness!! But perhaps she's trying to appeal to a wider variety of music-lovers & i think, either way, it works. One of the words that comes to mind is its overall more laid-back- but its not really that either...Its still got alot of strong beats, alternative/rock sound, but just a little more subdued in some ways. I esp. enjoyed the songs: Funeral Of A Good Girl & the World Is Over. More awesome lyrics & a great album for many moods. Bring us more Bif!!!

Want to listen to a REAL rock/punk goddess?,

Arguably the most under rated rock female singer of the last 10 years, Bif Naked just dropped what is in my opinion the best album yet.
Think that the rock lifestyle slows you down and wears you out? No way, not in Ms. Naked's world. The Canadian-born (yes I said Canadian and thank God too because I bet you thought the only female to come out of Canada was Celine Dion!!) alternative/pop/punk rocker is close to 35 and is still as hot as ever. She is one of the original rock/punk chicks! For those of you that need a point of reference imagine Joan Jett, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Madonna (young Madonna NOT older Madonna), Shirley Manson (lead singer of Garbage) and Betty Paige all rolled into one. Now throw in a ton of gorgeous ink (tattoos for those of you not inked), a toned and taut body (just look at the album cover), incredible intelligence, and a voice that can at one instant cut you like a razor and at another surround you like silk and you start to get a picture of our Ms. Naked. Superbeautfulmonster is Bif's fourth full album that focuses on heavy, hard-hitting tracks that feature growling vocals and ominous guitars. Tracks like "The World is Over" and "The Questions Song" let's us hear her take on being left out, alone and betrayed. Then she turns into a sex kitten who wants to cut to the chase with the tracks "Yeah, You" and "I want". My favorite? Her gorgeous cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters", her voice and passion seem to be made for that song. In this day and age of buying tracks off the internet or getting them for free, it means even more to actually buy a complete CD and add it to your collection. If you even remotely consider yourself a fan of music, this is a MUST have.

Decent pop music, but doesn't really rock,
By
This review is from: Superbeautiful Monster (Audio CD)
I took a chance on Bif Naked's 2005 album Superbeautifulmonster because a) she's hot and b) I had heard that she rocked pretty hard. Hot as she may be, she rocks about as much as Avril Lavigne. She sounds like a teen pop singer doing "rocker night" on American Idol.
Bif Naked has a great voice and writes pretty infectious pop songs. But that's all an album like Superbeautifulmonster should be sold as - a pop album. All the tattoos and Metallica covers in the world won't change the fact that most of the songs on this album could just as easily have been written for Faith Hill or Gwen Stefani. Again, if you're looking for a catchy, (mostly) well-written pop album, you could do a lot worse than Superbeautifulmonster. If you're expecting a remotely authentic rock album, you're going to be disappointed. Girlschool, this ain't.

"Superbeautifulmonster" is definatley a wild and fabulous ride with lots of turns, spins upside-downs and free-falls! Miss Torbet lets off steam throughout this relase with heated numbers like the opening track "Abandonment" along with others like "The World Is Over" & "The Question Song" which all deliver gloomy versus paired with deep roaring choruses, Ooooh. This is one of Beth's most powerful records of her entire career, It's very well put together. I'm proud to say that "Superbeautifulmonster" is all i've ever wanted in an energetic, pop-infused, Rock'n'Roll album and it's all done by one of my favorite artist. The vocals are gritty and the overall production is mind blowing. If you're a fan of or listen to any one of the three ladies I mentioned in my review's headline you'll be more than happy to order your copy of "Superbeautifulmonster" immediatley. Although I've compared this album to other pop/rock or hardrock greats it's simply just giving you a fine idea of what Bif is dishin'. Bif Naked is still one of a kind and completely stands on her own two high heels. She has her own distinct writing abilites, attitude and style with her vintage jet-black Bettie paige cut bangs. Bif Naked is the epitome of true girl-rock at it's best. Isn't the album title everything?!

Still Bif...but could Be Better,

Miss Naked's newest album, which includes a conventional cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters," does continue to represent the standard combination of pop/metal that her fans have easily adapted to, yet the record refuses to expand musically.
With tracks that sound all too familiar in the sense of an edgier Tragic Kingdom, Bif could easily expose more lyrically yet still obtain her credibility as a hard-rock singer/songwriter. FOR MORE OF THE REVIEW..CLICK HERE [...]

I'm a sucker for female vocalists, so my review is already biased by that. This CD has beautiful lyrics and is solid all the way through. The rendition of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is unbelievable. I recommend this for those who love a tough punk chick that can really rock.
