1.0 out of 5 stars Diabolical, January 15, 2010
This review is from: Superficial [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
After listening to this my only thought was 'Those are precious minutes of my life I'll never get back'

Lets face it, she can't sing. No matter how much the computer program 'auto-tune' assists her with the singing, its still the most bland, forgettable, pathetic attempt at music I have ever had the misfortune to ever hear.

Id rather stick pins in my eyes then listen to this monstrosity.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ignorance Is Bliss, January 25, 2010
This review is from: Superficial [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
For the people who made such comments as "There is no doubt she has a solid singing voice", or "She spent 2 million of her own money, and 3 years of her life making this CD", there's a reason for this - And, I'm happy to read how many people are familiar with the reason, and actually refer to it by name - "Auto-Tune". She does not have a solid singing voice - It's Auto-Tuned beyond recognition. And, it probably took 3 years to knock every out of pitch note into key. Someone suggested the singing is all done on keyboard - You can do it that way, but Auto-Tune is typically used manually, to fix a pitch problem here and there, by actually dragging the notes on a keyboard grid, onto the right note. And assuming the singer was close to begin with, the effect isn't noticable. But, when it sounds like a robot singing (as is the case with Heidi), that suggests she wasn't even in the ball park, and when they moved the notes to the proper pitch, the difference was so great, you get that robot effect. It's almost sounds like a Vocoder (think Cher's last hit from 10 or so years ago) which is done with a keyboard. It's a shame what our youth today is willing to accept as talent or entertainment. Software driven vocals - Lip syncing (because Britney is a really good dancer, so who cares that I'm paying $80+ to watch her lip sync). I so hope we return to the days when musicians actually played an instrument, and could sing in key, and sing live.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sounds like so many others.., January 13, 2010
This review is from: Superficial [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
So a part of me wanted for this album to actually prove to me that I was wrong about how awful it would be. Sadly, it definitely is bad....

The songs are slightly catchy, but many bad songs can be. Her singing isn't awful (at least she isn't tone deaf from what I can tell)...but all the songs sound so similar to each other and every song reminded me of another song by some other big pop star. For Heidi to really make it, she needs more originality as so many other good pop singers are coming out. Maybe remixes will be created out of these "boring" songs and something will come from it...

Heidi may think it is a great as Michael Jackson's Thriller...but she needs to check her brain and sounds one more time...
