Book Description

With such an increased emphasis on health and nutrition, which comes on the heels of the rising obesity epidemic, many people are researching ways to significantly improve their diet. There are countless diets currently on the market that don't work, or give you results that in turn diminish your health. Superfoods are just that, super. While a number of foods provide the body with a healthy amount of vitamins and minerals, each of these foods step up their game to offer something usually reserved for expensive supplements that still fail to bring what these foods do to the table.

What are Superfoods exactly? A Superfood is a food that is packed with phytonutrient content that deliver considerably more health benefits than other types of foods. They are nutrient and mineral rich and high in antioxidants. This combination will balance a diet while leaving the body more time to fight and prevent diseases over a more robust life cycle. So many of the health problems that people suffer from are directly related to their diets. Foods that are high in saturated fats, additives, and artificial ingredients contribute to problems while Superfoods prevent them and benefit the mind as well. Superfoods are easy to find in your local grocery stores. They don't come from the depths of the Amazon rainforest, but rather, anchor the oases of healthy foods in the modern market that you have seen your whole life.

Superfoods are not a diet but an addition. Make the conscious and thoughtful choice to augment your present diet with any or all of the foods listed below. The best part? They are not a burden on the palate but provide a sea of new tastes and flavors.

We have provided you with a Primer on introducing Superfoods into your diet through this collection of 50 Dinner, Snacks and Dessert Recipes. Each is easy to prepare while providing a wealth of nutritional benefits. There are 25 dinner recipes that we have prepared in our test kitchen to make them simple and healthful. The 25 snack and dessert recipes included show that eating mindfully can also be indulgent, to a point, as well as fun.

To your health,
Susan Daniels

Review

"From the introduction of this book, where Susan explains the health benefits her recipes have, to the very last recipe in- I loved it.

The frank, no nonsense way in which the author lays out "superfoods" in comparison with regular (processed) foods was very enjoyable.

The true treasure however, were the recipes. All unique, and mostly easy, and above all: DELICIOUS.There is such a wide variety (50 different recipes!) and each with their own character" -- Ryan

"Brilliant Recipe Book for the Health Conscious" -- Praveen Kumar

"I was really pleased to see a number of different recipe ideas for using kelp and seaweed - I've known for a long time these ocean vegetables are incredibly good for you but I've never really known how to prepare them" -- Andrew C

The formatting was fine, everything was laid out neatly and there was a functional table of contents.
Everything you'd expect from a good cookbook.

Yes, this title will become a trusted companion with my other cookbooks, and I'm sure it will be something I refer back to.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

5.0 out of 5 stars Just needed the recipes! March 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I already have enough information on super foods and REALLY needed good recipes. That's exactly what I got in this book. Even a healthy way to dress up my popcorn snacks that I hadn't thought of. I'll be using this book a lot as I have auto-immune issues and eat mostly bland food, except my special vegetable soup that I spice up with curry. Now I will have more choices - I'm so glad I found this - its a nice addition to one other book I purchased!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super delicious super foods! March 27, 2012
By Jordana
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Unless a person has been living under a rock for the last few years, they have likely heard of foods (superfoods) that have properties that prevent or lessen cell damage by environmental toxins, some unsaturated dietary fats, and even simple aging. Traditional ways of adding these foods to the diet are boring and uninspired. Susan Daniels has helped address this issue with her book on superfood recipes.

There is something here for everyone, whether you prefer beef, poultry, fish, salads, veggies, snacks, or desserts as the mode of getting these nutrients into your diet. Most of the recipes can be made with ingredients you normally have in your pantry. A few of them have new ingredients for me, and I can't wait to see how they will affect my energy level and overall well being.

Tried and tested some of the recipes. Threw the food out instead of eating it. I like some superfoods, but this made it hard to enjoy the recipes. Deleted from my kindle.
