3.0 out of 5 stars Great music and lyrics, but the rap is too long, October 6, 2009

This review is from: Superfriend (MP3 Download)
"They're here now, then they're gone... where they at, I don't know..." They went to get a bite to eat because they got tired of listening to that long drawn out rap. The song starts off great, the first verse has an amazing flow... "Yes sir, there's nothing halfway about him." But in the middle of the song, the rap is just as long as the vocal part if not longer. I used this song with a group of kids for a performance, and they cut the rap out of their performance because they didn't know what to do with it. And I have to admit, David Banner, much love for representing to the fullest and I love your music, but you didn't have to come that hard on a gospel track- not this song anyway. It just doesn't fit the vibe of the music. Maybe if the tempo were a little faster or the song a little more upbeat, but to be honest, you could've had Snoop Dogg on their rapping about money, and it still would have sounded more appropriate than what David Banner gave. The song needs to be remixed with a faster beat for Banner, or have a version without the rap so those trying to enjoy the smooth quality of the song aren't interrupted.
