Jerry Siegel's original Supergirl is the best!,
By AW "aw" (New York, New York United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Supergirl Archives, Vol. 2 (DC Archive Editions) (Hardcover)
I really love the first and original Supergirl/Linda Lee by Jerry Siegel! She was truly, truly the best, compared to the later supergirls. I hope WB can adapt Jerry Siegel's original Supergirl/Linda Lee and add her to TV's Smallville later on! Also, the comics writers made a huge mistake by killing the original supergirl in the 1980's and coming up with inferior supergirls afterwards. They should have just retired her peacefully on earth and leave Linda Lee/Supergirl alive! To me, she's always been Earth's Guardian Angel after Superman!

Chances are if you're thinking of buying this book then you already have volume 1 in which case stop reading this review and just buy it! The artwork improves in this second book and Supergirl's style also steps it up. This are fun to read and I doubt these Supergirl Archive volumes will be kept in print so if you want the full color comics in your collection then best not to delay. DC also has a black and white reprint volume if you don't need the color.

Silver Age comics are definitely not for everyone. Bizarre is the best word to describe these. I prefer Golden Age and Modern comics, but I love Supergirl. She has never been as sweet and innocent as here. These Archive Editions are such high quality collections. Pricey but you can tell a lot of effort went into it. Like the 'Criterion Collection' of DC comics.
