This album is a great departure from the Broadway work through which I became familiar with Shoshana. However, her talent shines through in this, one of the best R&B albums I've purchased in years. The album is varied, engaging, soulful, and thoughtful with an ease that's quite uncommon for a debut recording. Although, I would love to see Shoshana back on the boards in NYC in the future, this album gives me reason to believe there are many more incredible projects for Shoshana both in the studio and onstage.

You all know I LOVE the girl... but this CD has defied all expectations. It's INCREDIBLE!!! Looking for a Christmas present for someone special??? Here ya go, problem solved!!! Please don't think I say this only b/c of my love and adoration for Shoshana... I say this as a lover of amazing music. Yes I adore Shoshana, I think the world of her and would do anything to help her get the recognition she deserves, but I love music with real integrity even more. This is the best CD I've heard in a long time, and I might even venture to say, my whole life. No kidding. I guess it depends on what music you like, but if you like R&B with an old school twist... songs that have personal, deep meaning and are universally relate-able, sung by someone with an out-of-this-world voice and range... then, this is your cd... trust me!! I'm discriminating... I love music with every fibre of my being, but have only purchased a handful of CD's this year... and I'd buy this one ten times over, before buying any others... that's how good it is!!

Honestly this is one of the best cds I have bought in a long time. I received mine two days ago and I haven't stopped listening to it once yet. Each song has its own unique sound and is amazing. MY personal favorite is 116th. It is a really sweet and emotional song. Other favorites are Superhero, Naomi and Ain't No Way. I STRONGLY recommend this cd to everyone. Shoshana Bean has one of the most unique, powerful, and beautiful voices out there today and this cd definitely showcases her voice.

I love both jazz theater music and Shoshana Bean is one of the best performers of both genre. "Superhero" was worth the wait.

Like most fans of Shoshana Bean, I came to know her brilliance through her time as Elphaba in the musical "Wicked". But if you're expecting showtunes from Sho, you'll be sadly misinformed. But hopefully you'll like what you hear anyway because I think that Shoshana has come out with an amazing work of pop and R&B. I had been waiting for her to come out with a cd for a long time and I was not disappointed in the slightest. I like that Shoshana helped write most of the cd, you know that you are hearing not only Shoshana's voice but also her thoughts and feelings. My absolute favorite track is "Naomi". A song that I've been hooked on since I heard on Shoshana's MySpace around two years ago.

I would definitely recommend this cd to any fans of Shoshana through her work in the musicals "Hairspray" (Shoshana was in the orginial Broadway cast) and "Wicked". And also for anyone who saw Shoshana perform in "Peepshow" in Las Vegas in 2009. But I think any fan of pop and R&B would enjoy it. I know I do and that this CD will be a favorite of mine for years to come.

It feels like it's been forever, but Shoshana Bean's debut CD, "Superhero" is finally out! It was worth the wait. Singer/songwriter Shoshana Bean is best known for her work on Broadway (Wicked, Hairspray, Godspell, etc) and for her strong vocals and whistle tones that many say rival Mariah Carey's! Even though parts of certain songs took a while to grow on me over all this CD is one you'll have in rotation in your car, MP3 player constantly!

This CD is easily one of my favorite CDs to come out in quite a while! The songs are well written (by the way, all of the tracks are written by Sho except Ain't No Way) and Sho's voice is impeccable. Can't wait for her tour!

I went to the concert in Olympia last night and had a wonderful time. She is sooooooo much fun to see live. Went to see her last year too. Bought 2 CD's one for me and one for a gift. Listened to it on the way home and then took it to work and have listened to it all day and made my coworkers listen too. It is sooooooooooooooooooo good. I love Superhero, Press On, 116th and Naomi. Love the real feelings in the song writing and what a voice.

Superhero is an awesome song, especially if you are a fan of Conan the Destroyer.

Seriously, go and listen to The Conan the Destroyer Theme song and then listed to this song. It's a blatant ripoff.
