Great Collection of 1966 Pop,

This review is from: Superhits: 1966 (Time Life Music) (Audio CD)
This collection of 1966 music includes some really iconic pop from that year. While it lacks any of the harder rock and roll of '66, it includes very familiar pop. If you want a great one disc set containing the sounds heard on the radio in 1966, this just might be THE disc for you. Who could forget tunes like Good Vibrations (Beach Boys), Cherish (The Association), and I'm A Believer (Monkees)? But that's only a start. Yeah. I know you can get all of those on "Best of" albums by the Beach Boys, Association and the Monkees. The really neat thing about Superhits is that it contains a number of hits that are hard to find today. The best examples from this disc are Groovy Kind of Love (Mindbenders), Winchester Cathedral (New Vaudeville Band), Georgy Girl (Seekers), and See You In September (The Happenings). (By the way, this disc seems to have the same songs as Time-Life's "AM Gold 1966" album.) If you want a great '66 pop collection, give "Superhits: 1966" some serious thought. On the other hand, if you want more Rock from the era, look into Time-Life's Classic Rock series.
