5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality. any collector should own., July 26, 2009

I got this figure to add to my collection. the quality of the figure is amazing. it is very detailed and has great articulation. one of the most sturdy figures i have held, and has a nice heft to it that most of my other figures do not have. There are not many downsides to the figure. the only real two are: they figure rotates at the hip, but it kind of loose so it tends to want to spin around when held a bit. and 2) the cape goes over the shoulders (love the look!!!) but hampers the figure from moving his arms as much as it could. looks great, not great for kids to play with. If you want a great looking figure for your collection. you cant go wrong with this figure!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not a Toy (obviously), but a great figure, October 26, 2010

There are tons of batman action figures out there, so if your kid wants to play with Batman and his many gadgets, buy him or her a figure in the $10 and under range. If you, instead, just want a cool figure to stand on your desk, then definitely buy this Batman.

Batman is a very old comic character and he consequently has a multitude of different stylized appearances. The look of this model, with the angled bat symbol and short ears on the cowel is decidedly late 80's/early 90's comic book Batman. He has a very muscular build and an uncomprimising expression on his face. The detail work on this figure was better than I expected. His musculature is clearly defined, there are appropriate folds in his cape, facial muscle lines are present, and his hands are capable of holding the included Batarang (at least one of his hands). Probably the best thing about this figure is the manufacturer's choice to have his cape coming over his shoulders. This severly limits the range of motion of his arms, but from an aesthetic perspective, I think it was the right choice.

I have only a couple of gripes with this figure:
a) his utility belt seems to consist only of small satchels. It may be the case that this is in fact a loyal reproduction of his utility belt from the design era. In my opinion, however, it looks a bit silly.

b) the designers couldn't seem to decide whether they wanted this to be an "action" figure or more of a stationary model. Having movable joints at the elbows and knees is expected (and appreciated) but there's also a joint in his crotch area to allow his legs to move out in front of him. Also, his upper body is essentially on a swivel, and it rotates around his belt line. If this were a true action figure, these design choices might make sense but given that the arms barely move (due to the cape), it's kind of a head scratcher. I own several figures from Square-Enix's Final Fantasy "Play Arts" franchise and their level of dual functionality as pose-able figures and action figures remains unmatched.

c) the stand, though functional, has a smaller foot print than the base it self. As such, Batman is somewhat prone to falling backwards due to the heft and weight of this figure upsetting the balance.

Overall, this is probably the best Batman figure I've ever owned (and I have quite a few). If you are looking for a hybrid action/statue figure of Batman, you probably won't find many better than this.

I recieved this figure months ago.

Only now have I decided to leave feedback.

Was it worth the $40 dollars?

In short no it was not.

Aesthetically it is nice to look at.

More style then substance.

Two nit-picks. So please indulge me for a moment.

First off the left arm broke at the shoulder after 5 minutes.

Second the material the cape is made of is not very durable.

A few months later it has a few chips.

At this rate I only take it down once a week to clean my bureau.

I much prefer my DC Legacy Modern Age Batman as a overall action figure.

Superman/Batman Series 7 Batman is more of a adult display piece.

Basically find a spot for it and just leave it be.
