The Superman/Batman Despero action figure from (series 6) is a good collector's item for those fans of this Alien conquer of worlds. The design faithfully reproduces the art of Ethan Van Sciver from the Superman/Batman comic arc Superman/Batman, Vol. 5: Enemies Among Us. This particular design for Despero, who is one of the Justice Leagues' oldest enemies, is very reminiscent of his modern age appearances such as:
Keith Giffen's run on "Justice League America" (specifically issues #38-42)Justice League America - Issue Number 39 - June 1990
Geoff Johns' JLA/JSA: Virtue and Vice (which is THE reason that this rendition is part of my collection)
Kurt Busiek's Trinity Vol. 1 Trinity Vol. 2 (Trinity (DC Comics)) Trinity Vol. 3

The figure is decently hefty due to Despero's hulking mass. It stand 8" in height, has 9 points of articulation, and a very clean paint application which enhance the figure's appearance greatly(from the gold colored third eye to the various magentas used to give Despero's features definition). There is also a great amount of detail present on this figure from the dorsal fin crowning his head to the texture on his skin on his feet. Due to Despero's hunched shoulders and limited number of joints, the number of poses that are available are quite few.

The figure is an excellent display piece and will make fans of those who love the vicious monstrous version of Despero are sure to be very happy.
