Superman with Batman and Robin -- briefly, May 8, 2000
This review is from: Superman With Batman & Robin On Radio: Smithsonian Historical Performances (Historical Radio Play) (Audio CD)
I really enjoyed the episodes, and I'm glad to have them. The album notes are well done and informative, and even the commercials for the free buttons in PeP cereal were kind of fun.
If only it was an album of Superman With Batman & Robin, as it claims to be. Oh, they show up, and actually take part in the first story. It has 2 1/2 stories, with B&R as minor characters in one of them.
Go ahead and buy it -- for Superman. You'll even get one story with Batman and Robin as a bonus. But don't buy it for the World's Finest heroes.

This is one of the Best Radio Shows ever made!!!, December 6, 2010
This review is from: Superman With Batman & Robin On Radio: Smithsonian Historical Performances (Historical Radio Play) (Audio CD)
I adore the The Adventures of Superman Serial, Drama!! They are everything the Man of Steel is supposed to be and More! These shows are so wonderful, I wish the Smithsonian would clean up the rest of the series and put them out as well. Bud Collyer Superman's is a breath of fresh air, he is fallible, he gets flustered and he often seriously debates weather or not to give the villains what they deserve. This is one of the great superman stories as well, He battles for the life of his friends and for his own life as well. Batman and Robin also appear in what will be the best depiction of the boy wonder until the seventies! He is spunky, cocky and obnoxious plus a he's a real hard ass punk kid, He even says Damnit when they're stuck in the water tank! Batman is intriguing, he is far more a man in a costume who is mainly a detective. Sadly not a fantastic detective but an average gum-shoe.
Another highlight of this series are the stable of amazing background characters! To me this is the definitive Perry White! He's doesn't have a junky kid, he's not fighting with his wife and he's not a boring. He is everything Perry White should be, he's a bad tempered editor with a heart of pure gold who cares about his friends like they were his family.
Lois Lane is also a shining star in this series, she is an excellent hard noised reporter, who is jealous of Clark Kent. She is cocky head strong and quick witted.
Jimmy Olson is really what he was designed to be in this series he is Superman's Pal a little kid with red hair who is as resourceful as he is intrepid.
This series is for anyone with the imagination to see what they are hearing and if you can hold on because you will be transported right next to the Man of Tomorrow as he fights and flies his way into adventure after adventure!
