Hiiisssss,

This review is from: Superman/Batman Vs. Alien & Predator (Paperback)
This novel is fairly good with the art being quite realistic rather than the usual comic look. I think Batman was excellent and definately my choice out of the two heroes. I would have liked the Predators to have been more dangerous, but I won't spoil anything. As I said, a good novel!

Ehhh...,
This review is from: Superman/Batman Vs. Alien & Predator (Paperback)
There is no denying that the art is great. Sure. But i am not sure if it really matches the tone of the novel. I feel that too much was condensed in such a small amount of pages as well, like as if it was an abridged version of the story. There was little substance to the novel, and it was more of just watching 4 popular icons going at it. Considering that i love Batman, Superman, and the AVP series, this was a huge let down.

Homicidal aliens need love to,

The artwork is excellent like a blend of Alex Ross and regular comic style, at times I would just stop reading to stare at how nicely it was drawn. I found the story very entertaining. Im not a fan of the Alien and Predator movies but I am a fan of the characters individually and add the Superman/Batman dynamic and you have a good read. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of all 4 characters. The only negative is that I think they could have gone furthur with it, same storyline but more detail.

Too many adversaries in one volcano,
By Charles Ashbacher (Marion, Iowa United States) - See all my reviews (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE) (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)
This review is from: Superman/Batman Vs. Alien & Predator (Paperback)
I found this graphic novel to be disappointing, both in the premise and in how the plot evolved. The premise is that a colony of the creatures made famous in the movie "Predator" exists on Earth and they live in a volcano in the Andes. The colony has been on Earth for centuries, their landing on Earth was the consequence of a damaged ship. A population of the creatures made famous in the movies "Alien" and "Aliens" also lives in the mountain and for obvious reasons the two groups don't get along.
The team of Superman (Lois Lane included) and Batman are investigating the unstable volcano, two more complicating factors, when they encounter both groups with Batman and Lois being taken by the Predators. The final complicating factor is that a supra-national military group is determined to kill off both alien populations and will even nuke the mountain to see that this is done. In my opinion, the inclusion of both groups of aliens in one short story is one too many in a compact space. It would have been one thing if Superman and Batman had been forced to battle the two forces in completely different circumstances. Having the two species in the same locale so they have to deal with both of them simultaneously blew up my suspension of disbelief capacity. Good fantasy is based on having limits, but loading this much into one story exceeds the amount that should be allowed.

Superman Batman Preds and Aliens,

This review is from: Superman/Batman Vs. Alien & Predator (Paperback)
I really enjoyed reading this book. Might not be the best story out there, but i really enjoyed it. I tought it was really cool to see the bat and Supe duke it out with the Aliens and the Predators. If i have one complaint about this book it's that i think it is way too short. You just start to get in the story and then bam...it's done.
The art is quite decent in my opinion and the story is a good story if you don't take it too seriously. The Predators could have been a bit more dangerous, but really, what chance did they stand against Superman. It was quite a challenge for Batman however. I usually buy books and sell them later on when i'm done reading them a couple times. This one is still in my collection and will remain there. I must have read it at least 10 times and i don't get tired of it. That one's a keeper for me

This was way too short to be any fun for me. No battle seemed to last more than a couple pages and with a lot (but still not enough) of backstory filling up the short volume, there are only a handful of battles. The action is about as complex/long as: Batman finds out there are Predators around. Superman finds out there are Predators around. Together, they find out there are aliens around. They fight a couple. The end.
I would like that 30 minutes of my life back now, please.

You Know You've Read Worse,
By J. Sherman "The Critic" (New York, USA) - See all my reviews

Whipped up by Mark Schultz and Ariel Olivetti, this comic pits two of the world's greatest heroes against two of the deadliest aliens on film. What is obviously an attempt to milk all these big names actually redeems itself with a solid plot and fine art. Speaking of which, included is Olivetti's sketch gallery.
This comic is unrated: Violence, Adult Language.

Pretty good stories and graphics. Could have done more with how they ended up meeting the "badies" and how their powers played in defeating them or were weakened in defeating them (less of) but overall a pretty good read!
