Not very exciting, July 15, 2007

Superman abruptly learns that his home planet of Krypton was destroyed by Galactus, the world-eater from the Marvel Universe, so he flies to an alternate reality and teams up with the Fantastic Four to defeat the big bully once and for all.
Every now and again, the Powers That Be at the DC Comics and Marvel Comics offices decide they must come up with a new crossover event no matter what the cost. Quality, it seems, is not always an issue. Case in point, "The Infinite Destruction," where Marvel heroes watch Superman's exploits as cartoons, and Superman can shift from universe to universe without breaking a sweat.
The result is an overwrought space opera that isn't bad, but isn't good, either. It's just a fairly lame excuse to put both publishers' names on the credits page. The oversized book seems to indicate something epic will happen inside, but it's just not a very exciting story.
