5.0 out of 5 stars Great companion to the Adventures Of Superman TV series!!!
Superman on Television: Tenth Anniversary Edition (1998) is an updated version of the long out-of-print book from 1988. This new edition serves as an excellent companion to the classic 1950s television series "Adventures of Superman". Longtime fans of this classic TV series will always remember George Reeves as the definitive Superman that they grew up watching...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good overview, but has a few [gripes]
"Superman on Television" is a good review of Superman's golden years on TV (1953-57). Each episode has a meticulous summary and some ratings from the author.

What is NOT needed are the [gripes] against liberals and environmentalists that are sprinkled here and there. If I want to read attacks on these groups, I'll read National Review, not a book on...

Superman on Television: Tenth Anniversary Edition (1998) is an updated version of the long out-of-print book from 1988. This new edition serves as an excellent companion to the classic 1950s television series "Adventures of Superman". Longtime fans of this classic TV series will always remember George Reeves as the definitive Superman that they grew up watching. Author Michael Bifulco does a wonderful job on writing this book which has everything from an episode guide to trivial information. I highly recommend this book to any fan of this show, George Reeves, or of Superman!

Also get the book "Speeding Bullet: The Life and Bizarre Death of George Reeves" by Jan Alan Henderson (ISBN: 0-9619596-3-0) which is also an excellent book about the life of the actor who brought Superman to life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reading for Superman fans and others..., June 18, 1997
By A Customer
This independently published softcover is a must-read for Superman fans, especially those of the 1950's TV series. The book includes a detailed episode guides, lists all actors in each episode and even mentions any bloopers or episodes that are the best of the series. Explains what happened when the series went from B/W to color and had a major change in casting, direction and style. Includes some photos as well. I recommend it! - Lori M. Sampso
