I been searching for classic cartoons for myself but mostly for my kids. When I was a child my favorite superhero was and still is Superman. By watching these cartoons I found them to be very enjoyable but my son of 3 years old is turned on to Superman big time now. It's alot of fun hunging out with my son and watching his reaction to the cartoons for the first time. It's funny watching him play Superman and then beating me up. I would give it a 5 star rating but there is still room for improvement with the picture and sound. So buy it and enjoy it with your family.

They've added sound that ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE! Just for the sake of having booming sound. Well thanks, but we want Superman animated they way it was made, not edited with booming sound.

Here you get nine of the seventeen mini-movies/episodes of the classic Superman cartoon. For the price, you really are getting a bargain. Seventy seven minutes may seem short, but it is the right length and you feel satisfied by the end. Too bad that the entire seventeen episodes aren't on this disc. The major problem with this is the sound quality not being good in some scenes. When a character either talks in a big/echoing room or into a microphone, it is almost impossible to hear what they are saying. But the animation is still so beautiful and the stories are still exciting, even by todays standards. Overall, this is a must buy if you are a Superman fan, especially at this price. These episodes are so good, I think they still hold up and could be played and loved on TV now!

Yes, they added unwanted and un-needed sound effects to anotherwise ok cartoon. But we have thank Goodtimes for giving us the chance to see a classic cartoon we wouldn't get to see otherwise.

Despite having reasonably good video (for a public domain release), the audio has been "enhanced" by the manufacturer. In other words, they've added sound effects in addition to the original soundtrack (and occasionally over it). One can certainly understand issues with the opening and closing credits, given the ownership changes of these old cartoons, but crassly adding sound effects is akin to sacriledge. Do yourself a favor and wait for a better public domain release or a full restoration by Warner Bros.

GOODTIMES put out trash during the VHS years; now they continue their irresponsible tampering on DVD by adding stereo sound effects to these classic cartoons. It's so ludicrous hearing digital swooshing and explosions that sound like they were taken from the newer movies.

Another way of putting it, this audio sounds like a bunch of asssssholes playing with junk software. And imagine: they get paid to butcher these classics!
