Miss the old "Profile Publications"? You'll like this one., March 12, 1998
This review is from: Supermarine Spitfire (Hardcover)
This book has color artist profiles of various Spitfires, a reasonable number of photographs, and nicely developed text. It is useful, compact reference, at a reasonable price.

Lots of bang for the buck, February 28, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Supermarine Spitfire (Hardcover)
There are tons of books on the Spitfire. This one is surprisingly comprehensive for its small size. It efficiently cuts directly to the important concepts regarding the design, development, production and, use of the Spitfire and explains these concepts clearly and quickly. It's a really good reference book that reads well and will always have a place on my shelf. Kind of the "Cliff Notes" on the Spit. Everything you need to know about the aircraft is here in a condensed concise form. If you want lots of depth, and background info, you'll need to do more homework elsewhere
