Review

Being a father of three young children, I am eternally grateful that Sarah DeAnna has written such an important and life-affirming book! In our present-day Photoshop/outside-in-approach culture to health, wellness, and self-esteem, Sarah demystifies, debunks, and reveals practical steps to reclaiming our power. Supermodel YOU will empower you with both wisdom and wit to live a life of integrity and authenticity.
Dr. Darren R. Weissman, holistic physician, developer of The LifeLine Technique®, author, and educator

Supermodel YOU is a compelling book that takes us on a journey of supermodel transformation! A terrific guide that shares the keys to unlocking the inner model within all of us.
John Tew, The Beauté Guru, makeup artist to the stars

As a celebrity fashion stylist, I know everyone wants that sexy, svelte model physique. Supermodel YOU shows you how it’s done in a healthy, happy way...
Marcellas Reynolds, E! network and CNN correspondent

As a gorgeous, successful model, Sarah DeAnna is uniquely qualified to shepherd us along the often-mystifying road to our “skinniest,” healthiest selves. Now that’s chic!
Amanda Luttrell Garrigus, fashion journalist and E! News correspondent

True definition of sexy is someone like Sarah DeAnna who finally brings forth the awareness needed for all to be healthy. Whether you are a model trying to compete in this crazy industry or someone who is searching for how to be healthy and not sacrifice your life but rather enjoy it . . . this book is for you. I’ve shot thousands of young aspiring models for over 20 years and believe in this book more than words can say, as I have seen so much unnecessary body abuse. I am so inspired by Sarah DeAnna’s compassion and Supermodel YOU, that I will personally give it out to every aspiring model I shoot in the future!
Greg James, photographer

Sarah DeAnna’s outlook is refreshing, appealing, and a much-needed perspective in our culture today. Not only is she fierce in her approach, she combines real-life circumstances that women often face with her own unique experiences as a supermodel. Above all, Sarah DeAnna delivers a message that our culture is desperate to hear: You don’t have to be a model, or a size 0, or a huge success on the runway for you to learn to love the skin you are in.
Eric Handler, co-founder of www.positivelypositive.com

After working for years as a celebrity makeup artist and a life coach, I have seen firsthand what it takes to truly be “beautiful” . . . and Sarah DeAnna is it! By ripping apart the supermodel stereotypes and giving us a peek backstage at the fashion show of life, Sarah gives us a real path to rocking our looks! Her Five Keys are a livable, everyday recipe for beauty inside and out.
Michelle Phillips, best-selling author of The Beauty Blueprint, celebrity makeup artist, national TV and radio host, and keynote speaker

Finally there’s something out there who gives women all over the world the opportunity to learn what it’s really like to be a model. Shooting for a magazine is only 10 percent of this glamorous life. The other 90 percent is taking care of yourself so you can be the best of you! I love that Supermodel YOU gives you the Five Keys that will change your life.
Melissa Rose Haro, Sports Illustrated Rookie of the Year swimsuit model, 2008–2009

I got the book last week and I am already finishing it, I have been totally hooked into it. She is very clever: uses her intelligence to share the knowledge, but she also writes it in a very funny way, telling stories that keep the reading very light. She also gives a good insight of what is like to be a supermodel, and this is very surprising even if you work with models and think that you know it all. DeAnna explains from a first person experience, things that have happened to her and, through this, leads you to the point of what she is trying to explain. Making the experience very empathic with the reader. She also quotes some major celebrities, and mixes it up with references to our popular culture, such as the iPhone, Twitter, or Kate Moss. This is the type of book that you want to have around you and open it here and then when you finish reading it, it inspires you to become better in every aspect, it inspires you to shine, and the most important reminds you that you can and should SHINE! She does shine, and that's why she is a Supermodel guys! I get it now :) I would have also liked to read something like this when I had eating disorders and I had no clue of how to get out, or what was happening to me. I find it helpful, makes you want to feel good and look good. Let's all shine!!!!

"Supermodel YOU" is a highly motivational book. Written by a successful supermodel it is full of real life examples on how to become skealthy. There are five keys to feel and look good:

1. Self Awareness
2. Beauty Sleep
3. De-stressing
4. Modercizing
5. Intuitive Eating

The books talks about those five keys again and again. Every chapter cross references the keys, so I lost count how many times they were mentioned. By the end of the book you memorize all five of them really well! Every chapter dissects each issue almost to the molecular level. It spells out every detail of psychology, motivation and thought process related to self awareness, beauty sleep etc to the point where it is completely impossible not to want to look and feel good!! The book is very easy to read.

There was one thing that was hard to relate to for me - the author is vegan and "addicted" to (addicted is too strong of a word but she just really likes it) baby carrots and sweet potato. She says that she eats whatever she wants in moderation. My first thought was: no wonder she is so slim! If I eat whatever I want, it is absolutely not going to be sweet potato or kale! :) Anyway we should eat whatever we want as long as it is pretty much healthy. I cannot say it is a new concept for me. All the points in this book are good and well known only this time they have been told by a supermodel. And it is great because in some cases young girls would rather hear this message from someone gorgeous and successful like Sarah DeAnna than their teacher or mom!

P.S. I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for review purposes.

In her book Sarah DeAnna shares some good advice for looking good. Even though I am not sure if I need a super model to tell me that. Basically, enough sleep, good nutrition (no junk food and not too much of anything, not too many carbs), no drugs, and some exercise are the the staples of model beauty. She is adamant that drug abuse and eating disorders turn models into ugly girls and are not good for their careers. She also claims that most models lead a healthy life style, and that's why they are so good looking, along with tons of self esteem and charisma. I am not totally convinced about her claims that most models are not anorexic or don't do drugs.
She advocates that good food will make our hair shiny and our skin glowing and keep the weight down. This I believe, but it is not new to me.
She encourages girls/women to find their inner beauty and to embrace their looks, no matter what they look like.
If this book will help some young girls/women believe in themselves and keep them from starving themselves in the name of beauty, then it has done a good deed.
Her five keys to good looks:
1. Self Awareness
2. Beauty sleep
3. De-stressing
4. Modercizing (natural movement)
5. Intuitive eating

I absolutely love this book. I find it very hard to put down at the end of the day. I can feel your spirit when i read it, sarah. I am incredibly proud of you and all you have accomplished. You answered pretty much all of the questions i have ever wondered, but never had the guts to ask you...about modeling, how you stay beautiful... i just love it and i love you! Your book, and you, has motivated me to change my eating habits and be more aware of my body and how my body works. You are amazing!

Keep it up!!!

This book is filled with sound advice and an overall message of self acceptance and self love. I am a psychotherapist and since I read the book have started sharing it with my female clients especially 18 to 30 age range with great results. Sarah DeAnna's informative, funny yet kind voice throughout really speaks to women who are bombarded by images of 'perfection' day in and day out. Coming from a real life SuperModel (they recognize her from magazines they read!) really holds weight with my younger clientele. Yes to empowering our young women and a big YES to SupeModel YOU! Thank you Sarah DeAnna!!
